Hey guys, I just charged my e-cig for the first time, and my atomizer cartilage wasn't out yet (still tasted great) so I simply unscrewed that and put it in a drawer to screw it back on when the battery was done. I put the cartomizer back in about say, 5 hours later (had to go do something) and when I did, it suddenly tasted horrible, like burnt metal. What in the world happened? I have another e-cig where I did this same process (charging it, putting the same cartomizer back on) and I had no problems with that. And my e-cig isn't really dirty, a tad bit of blackness around the very top of the inside of the battery, nothing big (like I said, tasted great right before I charged it). What's going on!?

I'm worried I just inhaled something toxic (I tried puffing on it and letting the vapor out immediately several times to see if the liquid inside needed to get to the atomizer better, but no luck...) and I'm worried about my product. Some of the metal on the inside of the cartomizer and battery looks a bit scratched where they meet, I'm worried I may have twisted too hard and got some time of metal coating into the liquid or air flow.

Where the battery and carto meet there is room for some give. The carto really can't get screwed on too tight unless you really crank down on it.

I would guess the carto got fried when the battery had a full charge. When they go from good to bad instantly that is the first thing I check. If it tastes like a rusty nail then the carto got fried.

And it might not necessarily be from a fresh battery charge either. I've hard cartos blow out without changing a thing. Your just puffing away one day and poof, rusty nail. Seemed to me some internal connection shorted out causing the whole thing to fry. Some are just built poorly and give up the ghost too soon.

Hello, the exact thing happened to be about an hour ago. I had noticied that I was not getting good amount of taste and vapor, so thought maybe my charge is real low. I put it on charger, grabbed a freshly charged batt put my carto on and one normal vape and the next burned. I believe the fresh charge burned what was left in the cart. I noticed a big clue but payed no attention at the time. Before I switched batt, noticed that when I pressed button I was not hearing that nice sizzle sound. That was a clue that the charge was low, and I almost refilled carto, but thought It was still pretty full. From now on, when i switch to fresh charged batt Im going to drip some juice EVEN if I think it might still be full just to avoid burning it. I figure that when you look down the carto, to ones eyes especially if batt is low, the bottom might be drier and when it hits that fresh charge heat, it just sort of burns out faster. I am really new, but I tend to over analyse things and notice changes in all machinery and many times avoided problems cause I can hear insignificant changes in things like cars engine, hard drive spinning etc. I have amazed my mechanic many times, hope this helps.
PS, after a few puffs now the burnt taste is going away. I just puffed a few without inhaling and put more juice. Figure when this one goes out I will get another carto and try cleaning this one out.

hello, again, last night I got a bug up my bottom and decided to clean the burnt carto.I followed PBusardos in how to, and boiled it for 15 mins , and repeated that four times. I was anxious to try it out. I was doing laundry any way so I put it in a sock in the drier and it worked like new. No burnt taste. I going to do this with all my cartos from now on. I like to recycle things when possible, and I like saving money most of all.
