I am looking forward to going snowboarding this winter and I realized I am not sure which rba I would carry in my backpack for mid-mountain vapes. This is my first winter off Cigars which fit nicely in a box in my pack.
I have several mods and I am fairly confident with my coil building. I really enjoy my Genesis style and have recently been working out using the Magoo. I dont think these would travel well on the mountain.
I have a Russian 91% on the way does anyone have one and an opinion on its portability? I know an Ego-t might be the way to go but would hate to give up the quality.
Thanks

For reference I am thinking I will put it on a VAMO v2 since I dont care if it gets broken or lost.

That is a thought I tried my hand at rebuilding a pro tank 2 with mesh and the draw was to tight I plan on trying again. I also have a MVP v2 that came with some i clear 16s might try those on the MVP. I learned to board later in life so I play it really safe and rarely fall... well I like to think rarely.

RBAs tend not to be the most travel friendly devices...

I second the Evod.... they are fairly cheap, put out a decent vape and travel well.

Though... how much do you plan to vape up there? You could go a different route and get yourself some decent cartomizers. Put one on the Vamo and a couple in their little condoms (nice and sealed). As far as durability is concerned...carts are probably the best thing you'll find.

Lol I don't come close to taking it easy and I rarely fall but I'd still play it safe on gear. Then a again I'm broke so a loss over 10 bucks would piss me off. But snowboarding is therapeutic anyway. Cartos are definitely a good suggestion that's what I used since tanks. Were worthless last time I vaped

I did not even consider cartos. I somehow skipped /learning about them as I moved to vaping. I got a cheap carto from the store with my first "kit" I did not like the taste but looking back I didnt like the juice and did not know what I was doing. I am going to check out IBtanked and Ikenvape now and give them a try. Thanks for another great idea. Any thoughts on getting a REO and RDA? I have been toying with trying one anyway with all the great reviews. I imagine it would be pretty safe from breaking just wonder if it would get sticky from the extra juice in well.

If Isaac (Ikenvape) is out of stock on the 2.0Ω - 35mm - 2X3mm hole "Platinum Punch" cartos... pick up some Boge 510 2.0Ω 2X1mm holes to hold you over. They are a little muted (compared to the more expensive but very well worth it IKVs), but they're still tastier than a clearo... and they last from 4-10 days depending on juice and your "vaping profile".
When they start to taste weak, toss it and grab a new one. (I keep pointing to 2.0Ω cartos because I doubt you'd be interested in 3.0Ω. :) )

Your best bet is the standard length (35mm) X 22mm IBT tank. Good capacity but not too long or too fat... and perfect on a 22-23mm mech. Short drip tip, and it'll take a good amount of abuse.

They don't leak. I carry one when I go dirt biking.

State o' Flux thank you so much for the time. I looked on Ikenvape and they are out of stock on the cartos you recommend. Are they usually out for long? I am going to pick up some of the boges. My question is do I want the hole or slotted? I am also looking at the phiniac tanks always wanted a reason to get one do you have an opinion on them? Also if a tank be it IBtanked or Phineas fits a boge will it also fit the ikenvape?

No problem. Tanks take a bit of experiance to know what's going on and how to use correctly. You'll pick it up fast though. There are lots of "how tos" on ECF blogs (Baditude's blog is a good primer) and the interweb.

Isaac says he'll have more real soon... you can e-mail him at sales@ikenvape.com to find out exact delivery dates, or ask him on his sub-forum. If he doesn't and you get desperate, I'll mail you one... just one though, cause I'm down to 4. ;-)

The slotted Boge work really well with high VG or just syrupy sweet juices and some real dark thick colored juices. I've tried them with thin stuff and they can get a little gurgly. IKV can get away with the 3mm holes because his wick batting is a whole different, and proprietary deal. Even though Boge makes the IKV cartos to Isaac's design specs... they wick and work and taste unique to IKV.

Yeah... Phiniacs are real first class too... no problems there. IBTs are kinda the standard by which all others are measured, and Phiniac measures up. :)

Yes... all standard cartos are about 9.2mm by either 35 or 45 mm. Standard or XL length. There are XXL cartos, but the tanks are pretty ungainly.

Thanks I ordered 4 of the platinum IKV unpunched LR Mega Platinum not punched they were in and 2 of the Mega Fusion also unpunched. I figure I can try them and then if I like them order a tank. I really appreciate the info and help I am really looking forward to trying them. I think they really are a good answer to my snowboarding trips. I am only mildly concerned about the flavor some people say they get from the filling. I hope its ok but in the How did you hear about us box at checkout I gave you credit.

Sure... no problem. Isaac will just laugh. We had a conversation earlier this evening. Get on the notification e-mail list for the punched platinums... if you haven't already.

I've actually used punched ones as drippers. I just cut the end off a carto condom and slide it over the holes. shove a tip in it (or not)... and go to town.

Lots of ways to prime a carto... some are total ridiculous overkill - but, you'll figure out what works for you.

I'd start at around 8-9 watts or 3.9-4.5 volts and see what works for your juice.

Lemmy know how it goes... or if you need any more bad advice.

So I got my ikenvape non punched Cartomizers today and I have one filled. I used the fill the condom with juice method.. It is a lot better than the last time (first time) I used a cartomizer. I think this will fit the bill for snowboarding! Now to get a tank and either a punch or punched carto's .

A "cartotankist" is born!

I generally buy them pre-punched, but if you want to punch your own, don't bother with those overpriced carto punches... for $5 shipped, these work amazingly well.

Now... off to IBT and/or Phiniac with you! ;-)

Yup I am pretty sold! I actually really like the performance and while it does not replace my RDA's or my genesis completely I think Cartotanks will be my go to for out of the house. WOW who would have known I am so glad I asked and listened. Ok so my question until I get some pre punched can I just use my dremel to slot the ones I have? The only other bummer (upside I get to shop) is that I really do not have that many mods that have airflow down around the connection. It seems my paps lux is ok as is my mvp but the rest not so much. I have 2 DNA mods on order and I got the flat 510 connection and I have 2 Saber Touches which I am not so sure about air flow on. Ehh well time to go get something to fit the bill. Other plus side I can get rid of my pro tanks which seriously under-perform imo

Thanks I did drill out the beauty ring so it is much better. I just found a Just GG in stock been looking awhile so not just for this and I ordered one. I will have careful but I imagine this will be an amazing combo with a cartotank for snowboarding. Also will be great for anything else as well.

The only mod and RBA I'd take into extreme conditions would be the REO Grand / RM2. It is built from a milled block of aluminum.

It also vapes better or atleast equal to any other combo out there.

With a REO, If ya happen to not stick a landing, you'll be sitting there vaping while you regain your senses. Anything else and you'll be cleaning up a big mess :)

Here's what I'm talking about. :)

Here's the RBA and how easy it is to build:

Here's a little vid to show you how the system works:

Here's the REO forum over on ECF where there is always many helpful and knowledgable people ready to assist or share their knowledge:

These mods are the end game. Their all I run.

Ughh man I have been fighting the REO so hard.... I dont know why, I am so comfortable with the price but???? I dont know the reviews are sooo good and I realize the premise is great. I thought the MVP box feel would be great but I find I dont bring it out. I worry the REO would be the same. I have some money set aside for Vaporcon Richmond and if I dont spend it I suspect I will get a REO
