Hello Everyone!

I've been vaping for about 2 1/2 months now, and I am interested in purchasing a new VV/VW APV. I have done some research, trying to figure out exactly what mods are well suited for me. I have narrowed it down to a few mods, but I can not seem to figure out which mod to purchase.

Vamo v5
MVP v2
sigelei Zmax v3

I am open to suggestions on some more mods, but seeing that I am a student (I assume some of you fellow vapors know the struggle) I was hoping not spend anymore than $75 total on the mod.

I almost settled on the MVP v2, but I wanted some more opinions before I made my final decision. I was planning on getting my MVP v2 off 101vape. If I were to settle on the MVP v2, is 101vape a reputable company to make my purchase seeing that they have unbelievible prices.

If you were only just starting out, I'd have said hands down get the MVP2.
But with 2 1/2 months already in... you're already in it for the long term... so while the mvp is still a good buy, it makes sense to get something that takes replaceable batteries.

I have a vamo v3 chrome, and a sigelei zmax- not sure the version of zmax I have.
I use the vamo mostly because of the interface; very easy to check battery and coil ohms. The zmax is a one button interface.
My zmax seems to be a relatively only version I think; top cap is not removeable and it's 510 thread only - no eGo thread; on the plus side it is stainless steel and feels rock solid in my hand compared to by chromeplatedbrass vamo which unscrews and dissassembles into various parts.

Do you happen to know a good vender for the Vamo or the Zmax. I saw that they were extremely cheap on fasttech, but it worries me that fasttech is a chinese vender.

if you can wait a month and don't mind buying from china, fasttech.com is the walmart of vaping...they sell some authentic but mostly knockoffs for dirt cheap and free shipping....but it does take a month for shipping (sometimes less, but average a month)

for under $75 you can get you a great setup :) and piecing together your own kit is cheaper than buying one already put together plus you can get a better quality "kit"

example in black:
Vamo v5 black chrome $29
The charger that I use: HUANGAO HG-1210W Dual Channels Li-ion / Li-FePO4 Batteries Charger $8
this is the cartotank that I use and it's glass :) Splash Anodized Glass Carto Tank Kit (6.0mL) $11
RG500 Bottom Coil Glassomizer (5.0mL) glass bottom coil tank $10
Black Metal Vivi Nova top coil tank $7

I don't recommend buying batteries from fasttech, but if you are willing to wait a month or more for shipping then by all means...but you'd be better if in a hurry to buy the batteries elsewhere
Authentic Samsung ICR18650-26F 18650 3.7V 2600mAh Rechargeable Lithium Batteries (2-Pack) with carrying case $8

so now for $73 you have a mod, a charger, 2 batteries with protective carrying case, a glass cartotank, a glass bottom coil protank style and a metal vivi nova

if you are still wanting to check out other options
New Vapor Starter Kits Part 2 (Mechanical and Regulated Mods)

So here's a little list of different styles of Regulated mods on fasttech to help narrow down what you like or don't like
$32.42 Vamo v5
47.20 Sigelei Tmax V5 Box Mod
$37.21 Innokin iTaste SVD
$32.55 Tesla
71.00 Innokin VTR Kit
$107.26 Innokin iTaste 134 Kit
$27.63 K200+
then of course my baby the TECs :) $34.44 TECS MSK-2000

Chinese mods coming from a Chinese vender. What's the problem. Lol. If you can wait a month and don't have much to spend, go for it. The zmax is much better quality IMHO. It's a tie between the MVP and the zmax for me though.

Go with the Zmax but don't waste your money on a starter kit. The batteries and charger it ships with are crap. ICR instead of the IMR batteries that you'll want to use and the charger is a single bay that charges at WAY too high of a rate (1A=1000mA) which not only "cooks" your batteries and shortens their lifespan but also makes all kinds of high pitched squealing noises and electronic smells!!:?::nah: The Zmax is an incredibly well built MOD and my black chrome V5 is a thing of beauty. The one button menu navigation is really easy and other than the initial setting, you really won't end up messing with the menus much at all. One button is all you'll need (to fire the unit). Check YouTube for some great reviews on the Zmax like this one or this one

The Zmax has yet to let me down and for the price, can't be beat! :vapor:

One more thing....whatever you do, buy from a reputable vendor that's well reviewed here on ECF!! Nothing worse than getting stuck with a problem on your order only to have a vendor ignore all your emails and attempts to get it resolved (ahem eLiquid-USA ahem) just because you're trying to save $5-10. Spend a little more and deal with good people who actually CARE about their reputation and customers!! ;)

I'd make sure to get something that puts out at least 15 watts if going to a regulated mod. That way you have room to grow and max out your vape to expand. The Beast Box VV is a decent device, will get one up to 20 watts or so, and has great battery life using two 3000 mah 26500 batteries. Mod, 2 sets of batteries and a charger will run about $100. Nothing pretty to look at but puts out some decent power, give great Vape.

I order from fasttech cause I'm not in the usa; there's registered suppliers listed on this forum; some of the popular stores I come accross here are 101vapes, discountvapers, myvaporstore, madvapes.

But I highly recommend looking at the fasttech site to identify what is available; for example note the differences between the vamo5 and earlier versions and the options between getting a stainless steel vamo versus a chrome brass vamo; btw the vamo does have a reputation for soft 510 threads that get stripped out; I use an eGo adapter on mine so as not to be wearing them down all the time.

I went with the MVP v2 after a couple months of the ego, its a nifty little mod, I personally liked the fact I didn't have to purchase any 18650 batteries for it and could just use a cellphone charger cable to charge it also the little thing can charge my phone and whatnot with its USB output if I needed it, what I didn't like about it was it only went up to 11 watts, which isn't that great for trying to build a dual coil with an RDA/RBA, was able to get a single coil RDA working on it pretty good after some YouTube vids though.

If you are looking to save money, I recommend an Ego, honestly. The Ego-V V3 from Mega has VV(3.0-6.0 in 0.1V increments) and VW(3.0-15.0 in 0.5W increments). It also has 1300mah which is more than enough for the vast majority of people to get through the day, plus a USB passthrough for when you are at home charging it.

The most expensive I've ever seen it go for is around 50 bucks, but the company pricing it that high offers a lifetime warranty on it (all you pay is return postage). I've also seen it as cheap as 20.

That would be my advice, until you can get the cash to really invest into a mod.
