So I'm hovering over the "check out" button on a site for an XL nimbus clone. Wanted some insight before I pull the trigger.

So I'm wondering what my ohm range should be in since I'm using an itaste svd. Not trying to get a whole new set up just yet. Just a rebuildable for the fat clouds and awesome flavor for at home. So yeah, suggestions on what gauge kanthal wire, how many ohms and your experience.

Thanks in advance!

This mod is regulated so youll have to keep your resistance higher for it to actually fire. Id suggest looking into micro coils and learning how to wrap those well before you go cloud chasing. Single coil builds with 30 gauge wire should get you started and produce some awesome flavor and good amounts of vapor.

Huge clouds require special batteries, mechanical mods and low resistance builds, it requires some saftey precautions and a lot of learning before you can jump in safely. You don't want to blow your face up!

I believe the minimum resistance is 1.2 ohm. Some say as low as 1.0. Regardless the clouds won't be huge. Try a bottom dual coil tank/clearomizer. That's about as good as you're going to get with a regulated mod. Even if you were to build a dual coil rba at 1.2 ohm the mod won't have the amperage to create big clouds. Try picking up a mechanical mod, a couple Samsung 20R 18650s and an RBA clone. Shouldn't cost more than $75 altogether if you shop around.

Check on fasttech. The nemesis clone has silver plated contacts and is only around 20. If you dont mind waiting for a little while you can order a whole setup including batteries and a charger from FT. Shouldn't cost you much at all. I just picked up a FT nemesis clone and it is great, especially for the daily driver and with the right dripping setup you can get some pretty massive clouds with it.

This comment is just plain incorrect,

The ITaste can pump 5 Amps, you can use anything above 1.2 ohm, ON ANY RBA YOU CHOOSE.
you will get fine clouds if you build for your device(s)

Just because of budget issues, I'll sadly be building some of my first coils and using a regular old Spinner battery. Looking to build microcoils, but to try and keep it quite above 1.8ohms. I was getting very respectable clouds with a 3.5ohm atomizer set to 4.1V's, so I'm wondering if I truly wouldn't get much of a result with an RDA coil? I myself ain't really all that big of a cloud chaser, but I have to say that I've had some surprising clouds out of most surprising of coils.

Not sure what your experience level is, but for me, I started with rebuilding Protank/Evod's until I got a handle on the different wraps, resistance and wicking methods. I later opted for the simplest (and cheapest) RBA I could get, the Igo-W (about 15USD). I would wrap coils in the 1.5-1.7 range to fire off my MVP2 which did produce some very thick vapor. Was a lot of trial and error, but once you get it down, its a very short, and satisfying learning curve ;)

I'm still using the same igo-w, but now on a mechanical. I thought sub-ohm would be where I wanted to go, but after a short while with that, I found my sweet spot to be right between 1.1-1.2 ohms.

When you are ready understand safety and spring for a $20 mod, one way to get big clouds is 0.5 ohm genuine UD $10 IGO-W.
Twisted 30 GA kanthal.
Genuine Youde IGO-W - 101 Vape

$10 IGO-F for quality vapor at 1.2 ohms.

I don't see how it is incorrect. 5A is nothing. If you want big clouds you need at least 10A and the ability to go below 1.0 ohm. A 1.2 ohm dual coil with only 5A is going to either have tiny coils (inadequate surface area) or extremely slow to heat up. Technically you can put any 1.2 ohm atomizer on there but you wouldn't want to.

You dont have to spend a ton of cash to get huge clouds.
Kecig k100 ($35)
Sony 1600mah 30 amp 18650 ($12)
Nimbus, Nimbus clone ($15-$70)
26 or 28g kanthal wire, dual coils .25-.35 ohms
I would highly recommend the sony 30 amp batteries, especially if you get close to .2 ohms.
The end result? A fog machine!!!!!

How big of a cloud is needed? I got some nice thick clouds by just replacing T3s and Protank2 wicks (1.5-1.8ohm) with organic cotton, using an ego twist and Mvp2.

More clouds = More juice= More $
IMO, it's a waste to go too big. I like using quality juice ($17-$21 for 30ml) and don't want to break the bank.

But I do want a good RBA that is durable (no leaking when not upright) easy to rebuild and flavorful.

If your truly going to chase clouds, make fog, be a side show then 20+ watts and plain 100% VG in a dual coil dripper. Massive clouds, minimal expense. Why waste expensive flavored, nic, blended juice just to turn it into steam and impress your friends??

My massive cloud machine - Igo-W with micro-coils and cotton, drilled out air holes, .8 ohm on a mechanical which works out to 22 watts on a fresh battery (which BTW is 5.25 amps which requires a pretty strong battery)

I don't suggest chasing clouds with any juice containing nic, the nic buzz 5 to 10 minutes later will make you sick!!
This is done with 50/50 0 nic Sour Watermelon juice. I can literally fog the cabin in here to zero visibility in 3 puffs.

ProTank2 Stock 1.8 coil, replaced silica with organic cotton. Mvp2
And there you go, even great clouds (as well as amazing flavor) can be had with a Protank 2!!

I still vape my very first Protank on my VTR every day, it holds my morning Red Bull juice. I have now rebuilt all my coils with 1.8 ohm micro coils and cotton wicks and still enjoy every blissful vape from them.
