Looking to get into Rebuilding. Help me out with some ?'s

I'm looking at getting a KFL+ clone and doing rebuilds. This will be my first attempt. Let me give you some background information on my vaping.

I like flavor over cloud chasing. Give me good flavor and I'm happy regardless of the size of the cloud.

I am currently using an Aspire Nautilus tank with 1.6 and 1.8 ohm heads. I also use a iClear 16's with 2.0 ohm heads. I find that to get good flavor from these I am usually in the 3.8 to 4.2 volt range.

Now the KFL+ has grabbed my interest due to the mass amounts of people claiming the great flavor it produces, so I'm interested in getting a nice clone and have a go at it myself.

So what will i need in terms of supplies to build coils in the 1.6 to 2.0 ohm range on a KFL+ clone

I know a lot people seem to use organic cotton as their wick.

What size or gauge kanthal wire do i need? How many wraps am i going to approxiamately need to due and around what size item (screwdriver, drill bit, etc.) will i need to wrap around?

Where would be the best place to buy said wire?

You can get kanthal wire on ebay or from lightning vapes pretty cheap. 100ft rolls for $5 - $7. Start with 28 and 30 gauge. A 1/16 drill bit is good for a big micro coil or get some 20, 18 and maybe 16 gauge blunt syringe needles to wrap smaller coils.

Are you talking about building a dual coil setup?

Aspire Nautilus you are running at roughly 4W per coil... way too low! You should aim for 6-8W, IMO.

A key thing you need to mention is if you are using a mechanical mod or not.

If NO, then it doesnt matter what ohm your coil is. You change the voltage on your mod to give you the wattage you want for a particular coil. that said, if you want a 2ohm DUAL COIL, you need to build two 4ohm coils and the only way you will be able to do that without an insane amount of wraps is with 32g kanthal.

dual or single doesn't matter, whatever gives me great flavor.
