Suggestions?

I have many clone mods and a few authentic mods. My latest buy was a Big Nasty. One thing I have found in common with all authentic mods I have bought is NONE of them hit nearly as hard as ANY of my clones. I have cleaned all the threads thoroughly, battery is fully charged, atty metering to .6 yet very little vapor. I can put the atty on my el cheapo Ebay Chi You clone and it performs nicely....on my authentic King, Steam Roller and Big Nasty....not so much. So my question is...am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick to getting great performance out of these authentic mods? I see many reviews on the Big Nasty where people rave and rave about it....Im very disappointed. It was like going backward three steps from what I was doing on my Cheapo Chi You. Anyone have any suggestions?

Spent 30+years in the telephone business as a central office tech & my son has a EE degree & we both think you are having voltage drop issues.
Measure the battery voltage after a fresh charge. Put that battery in the mod & measure the voltage while firing at the 510 connection.
Should be the same or maybe .01 less than the fresh battery out of the mod.
If it is not then clean all contacts with a cotton swab & 90% alcohol & dry with swap.
If that doesn't work take the mod & use noalox on all threaded connections.

This is strange, I have a couple mechs. The panzer, biomech limited, magneto, 4nine, and a K101. Out of all of them to me the magneto for whatever reason doesn't give me that satisfying vape that the others do. I would say my best setup is my panzer and atomic. Im not sure if its the small chamber on the atomic or what but I have the same build on my patriot and it doesnt slap the back of my throat like the atomic does. The big nasty was actually on my want to buy list for a while now. All the reviews ive seen have been great. What toppers are you using? And whats the air hole situation on them? Maybe that could be the problem.

That's not how you find the voltage drop. To properly check the drop, you need to measure the voltage under load, while your atomizer is firing. They make contraptions for this that go between the mod and the battery. Or you take a multimeter, and you hold the positive (red) needle to the positive post of your atomizer, and the negative (black) to the grounding post. When you fire the mod, the multimeter will read how much voltage is really going through that coil. Subtract that from the voltage of the battery, and that's your voltage drop.

Typically there's more voltage drop with a lower ohm coil, so if you can build a 0.8 - 1.0 ohm coil, this will give you a better estimate, since the drop can only improve with higher ohms.

No prob! Just be careful and make sure your mod is stable... you only need to fire the coil for a few seconds, but it'll be enough to do some damage to your fingers if you slip. :p If you have a multimeter with the little clamps, that helps.
