Hey, I'm new to the forum but not too new to vaping. However, I am somewhat new to RDA's and RBA's. I am currently vaping on a Hades Clone Mod with a Stillare 26650 RDA. I've got two Efest 26650 IMR's, and I'm vaping on a .20 Ohm build. I'm aware that sub-ohm vaping can be dangerous, and would like to know a few things. Number 1, where can I get safe batteries for Sub-Ohm vaping? I mainly vape because I recently quit smoking, and my fixation is the amount of smoke I see. I would like a safe build with 6mg Nicotine that will produce plenty of vapor. If I could get some suggestions, maybe some video links, etc., that would be awesome. Also, I just ordered a Sparta 26650 mech mod, and will be using both mods. I would like to know what kind of battery to use for sub-ohm, what kind of build, and where to find these things.

What is the amp limitation (and mah) of your Efest batteries?

dude you may want to stop using that . i went and did a quick check of efests. maximum discharge rate of 15 amps. a .2 build is pulling 20 amps! i am not the expert on this but this sounds like a recipe for disaster. hoping one of the experts here can explain this better. this is if your batteries are red. the purple ones say a maximum discharge of 64 amps which would be plenty of headroom. but i do know e-feast is fond of overrating their batteries and that sounds like BS to me. the green Sony's are 50 amp continuous and considered the highest amp rating you could get.

THE BATTERIES ARE PURPLE!!!!! Yes this was meant to be caps locked, because now I'm not so much fearing that my mod will explode in my face.

Word of warning: Efest has a history of over-rating or misrepresenting their battery specifications. Advertising a battery as having a 35 amp rating on the label but in reality it is a re-wrapped LG18650HE2 battery with only a 20 amp continuous rating.

I Googled Efest 26650 3500mah battery and got this: Efest IMR 26650 3500mAh battery with flat top, 3.7V for big mods with only a 20 amp continuous rating.

Same battery, different vendor, different amp rating: 26650 Efest 3500mAh IMR26650 High Discharge Flat Top with only 15 amps continuous.

The purple variety, again different vendors with different amp ratings:

http://efestpower.com/Product/123409115.html 32 amp continuous, 64 amp pulse

http://www.vapeking.com.au/efest-purple-26650-3500mah-imr-battery-64a/ This vendor claims 64 amps continuous. Funny yet scarey at the same time.

Efest IMR 26650 LiMn 3500mAh Battery - Flat Top - 32Amp with a 32 amp rating, but not specific about whether it is the continuous discharge rate or the pulse discharge rate. Big difference between the two specifications. The continuous rating is generally the more reliable rating used by most people in the battery industry.

As you can see, Efest's battery specifications can be all over the board. Some people trust them....I don't. :glare:

Personally, if you feel safe using an Efest, I'd only build down to 0.4 ohms for some safe headroom.

Baditude, The only problem I have with building at 0.4 ohms is that any time I build anything over 0.28 ohms, I don't seem to get the same amount of vapor which is what my fixation is.

All I have to say is do you want to vape safer, or make more vapor? Also recall the reason that you got into vaping in the first place. Seems like it should have been to stop a known health risk; now you are going to risk injuring your face or hands ... and for what? More vapor? Shouldn't be a tough decision to me.

Take the suggestion above and add some vegetable glycerin (Vg) to your e-liquid. It's the same Vg which your e-liquid bases use. You can purchase this at Walmart or CVS Pharmacy. This is what the cloud chasers use in competitions and YouTube videos using 100% vg. I drip 100% vg at times at 0.6 ohms and make very respectable clouds, but that's not the reason I use it. It has a sweet taste in its own right and is extremely cheap.

If I'm not mistaken, (I peeled the label off of the bottle,) I'm vaping with 50/50.

And I will try that suggestion baditude. Just curious, how would I go about making my own juices?

There's a DIY sub-forum here on ECF in the ELiquid section.

Theres a number of ways to make your own e-liquids. You could just add some Vg like I suggested before for more vapor.

You can buy varying strengths of unflavored nicotine e-liquid in your choice of pg/vg ratio and add your own flavoring agents. There are places to find flavor recipes. I bought a 1000ml bottle of unflavored 24mg nicotine e-liquid from My Freedom Smokes and some concentrated flavors. Simple flavors are easy to make. Wizzard Labs is another website for liquids and supplies.
