Hey guys - I'm brand new here, but have been vaping for a while (and still can't stand that word, 'vaping'). I'm currently using the iTaste MVP and VV 3.0 with Kanger ProTank Mini 2's & 3's. I've been happy with this setup for the most part, but I'm looking for something with a little more oomph. I've tried Mech Mod's and RBA's. They're fine, but not for me.
I've been considering the Joyetech eGrip. I like that it's compact, and will run up to 20watts, which I'm sure is plenty for me. I like that it has a built in tank, although it does limit you to one flavor of liquid at a time. Kind of a bummer. I'm also not crazy about the fact that the coil heads are only available in one resistance.
I also considered the Eleaf iStick, either 20 or 30 watts. Again, its compact and powerful. But that brings me to new clearomizers. So, I've been scouring the web. Aspire Nautilus, Kanger Genitanks and SubTanks. Lemos, Billows. I've even considered an RTA, but I'm not thrilled with the prospect have having to wind coils all the time.
All this has lead to a basic question of what feature do I need to get what I want: More airflow or lower resistance? I know I'm going to use a higher wattage device, so lower resistance is obviously necessary, but how low? I'm rambling on here hoping that it will spark enough of a conversation that the details will hash themselves out.

Thanks
Nate

PS - I'm not going to take the time to proof read this, so if there are any typos or errors, I apologize.

I'm not so much interesting int he 50watt iStick. The big seller on the 20 & 30watt is the size. The 50 is about the same as my MVP, and would like something smaller, and I don't see myself ever going up to 50watts, or even 30 for that matter. But since the 30watt is basically the same size as the 20, why not have the extra wattage just in case.

If you are looking for small, simple yet powerful and well priced, have a look at the ego one kits.
Even the "large" 2200mah size is tiny. You could even just buy the tank portion to check out,
they are only 20 bucks.

Check out reviews on y o u tube for them if you like. I like mine and have stepped up my vaping experience by going the storebought sub ohm route. They're easy and they work great. imo.

The Dog guy - I'm curious, why do you say you're the minority?

I have never been a member in a forum before, so I start doing really stupid stuff please correct me lol

Has nothing to do with the forum or being a new member nrphilpot. I am just the minority in the fact that I'm not blown away by the subtank nano so far. There are a TON of people that love it and it's big brothers. At 15w (the max on the vv 4) I don't love the vape, but I don;t want to discourage you and have you think I am the norm! I don't think I am! It's only my opinion and you wanted to have a broad view of opinions.
If you go to a 30 or 50w I stick you may love the sub's. They are great for that range and that and the Atlantis sub are great for ease of use and the ability to buy pre-made coils. If I buy the 50w stick or the MVP 30 or ipv mini 2 I may think the same of my sub. I just like the Nautilus at the lower range even with the 1.2 ohm in the sub vs. the 1.6 or 1.8 in the Nauti. It's really a subjective thing but of course I'm right  but only when it comes to my preference!!

I've had the ego kits, definitely the wrong direction. I've looked at Sigelei and other box bods like that. Those are really cool and look like fun, but for my purposes, I really like the built in battery. I bought a mech mod and was annoyed by having to deal with the batteries. And that is another vote against the 50watter lol.

The real question I need to answer is whether it's the lack of airflow/airflow control or the higher resistance that I don't like about my current setup.

Thanks guys...I appreciate the input

I like the airflow in the nautilus, but some dislike it. The Kanger sub has nice airflow as well and so does the Atlantis. If you don't love a warmer vape (as I don't) then airflow and the way YOU draw make a huge difference and cool it down well!

The Dog Guy - the reason i asked you is because your set up sounds like mine now, and I think you and I are on the same page. You're response is really helpful. I'm looking for something that will hold a charge a while, I don't have fill every couple of hours and gives me a good, flavorful hit with a decent amount of vapor.

I agree on the iStick 50 (my preferred device at the minute) but I recommend the Horizon Scion quad coil sub tank. It's a beast and uses the full potential of the iStick.

Other nice tanks to go with this device are the Delta II and the eLeaf Melo.

My opinion, and what I am looking at now, is the istick 50, the IPV mini2, the mvp 30. I almost cross out the IPV because I don;t want to deal with batter changes myself, but it has really good reviews, I tried it and the build is really nice quality and and it has a great hand fit. The 4400 mah on the istick 50w is a big deal to me! All that being said, I like the quality of both my MVP2 and my vv4 and they both do themselves justice. Both give enough flavor and cloud that I have not smoked in almost 2 months, and after 35v years of analogs that's a huge deal to me especially since my wife still smokes!
One caution, if you move to the 20watt+ range the nautilus tanks won;t cut it anymore. I max out at 13w and that is pushing it (you ain't hitting the 10 sec shut off at that wattage) at least not without dry hits or burnt taste. I van happily run my NET juice 50/50 at 11.5w with no issues and I can run others from 9-13 with no issues depending on the flavor, warmth of vape, cloud that I'm in the mood for.
