Suitable RBA and Correct Battery for Kamry K-100 R-Scope Mod

Hi Everyone,

I've been vaping for the last four years and have finally built up the courage to try an rba on the above mod. I am in need some advice on which RBA would be a good starter for some one new at rebuilds. Also need to make sure I'm using the correct battery. I don't really want to buy an expensive RBA until I know whether or not this is for me - just something relatively easy to rebuild, reliable and safe.

I bought the Kamry K-100 based on a review by P. Busardo and have been using an Efest IMR 18650 3.7V LI-MN. It's a 2500 mAh, 35amp (I believe amps actually work out lower). So far I've been using a Protank 3 with a 1.8 resistance coil. My e-juice is a 50/50 PG/VG mix. I have loads of vapour and haven't had any "incidents" - yet. To give you an idea of usage, my current battery lasts me around two days.

Any advice on an RBA I could handle, good tutorials available and what kit would be needed. Also, positive criticism on my current set up would be welcome in case I'm in danger. Thanks for your help.

Hello and welcome to the forum Boweevil. Glad to have you here!

You are safe with your current setup. Your current battery is only 20A (not 35A as printed on the wrapper). See blog post #17 below.

If you are new to mech mods and/or rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Thanks for your information and advice on new threads. This is turning into a hobby I love but I realise mods and rebuilds are not something to take on unprepared. I read a lot of posts by people who have only been at it a few months, and yet they are building some fantastic mods! I am able to rebuild a chainsaw, however RBAs and mods have me paralysed as regards safety. I'm determined to get the info into my head and then just do it! Thanks for your help and the fact the Vets are willing to share their experience.
