About 5 or 6 years ago my husband and I went to Gulf Shores, Alabama and one of the things we did is go to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. We got to play with baby tiger cubs and it was one of the coolest things I have ever done.

My friends and I spent a week camping at a music festival for about a week. We got to meet some great band members and spend some time out of cell phone reception in a valley in West Virginia. You could actually climb up onto the bit hills and harvest fossils for souvenirs when the music and light shows weren't going on. It was the best vacation I've ever had

wish i did but hubby worked 6 days a week for most of the time we have been married so we never really get to go anywhere.

When we go off the island to go grocery shopping during the warmer months, we usually have a tailgate picnic.

Haven't been on a 'real' vacation for many years... but when you live near the Coast, and are no longer able to work, every day is a vacation day!!
