Ah ha...

A new law that requires Big Pharma to report most of the payments and gifts they give to doctors and teaching hospitals is apparently making a lot of doctors very nervous about coming under greater public scrutiny.

The so-called Physican Payments Sunshine Act went into effect earlier this month, and it applies to the manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and biologicals that take part in federal health care programs. As The Wall Street Journal reports, that information will be posted on a publicly accessible website beginning in September 2014.

Now if they'd just pass a Regulators Payments Sunshine Act, some people at the Foolishly Deviant Administration could get nervous too...

I really do not trust doctors, any Doc that prescribes me antibiotics for flu (Flu is a virus, antibiotics don't do jack) is full of it.

Hopefully this will make doctors think twice before accepting "gifts" (bribes) from BP.

I'm sorry for laughing out loud at this article. A Doctor refuse money? A Doctor refuse free pharmaceuticals given to him in the hope (usually right) that they will prescribe them over others of a similar capability? Jeez folks I live in a tiny town and the evidence is all over the Doctors office, waiting room and treatment rooms. The days of the old GP with ethics is long gone.

Hell yes they're nervous. As always you shine a light in many dark rooms and things scurry for cover.
