Well, this is not very pretty LOL,
but as title says, it is very light, fully functional and well balanced.

Best of all, this mod is super easy, was done in about half an hour.

Details:
The left part is the top tube of a vamo v2 + a 510-510 adapter.
The case is a standard 18650 2 battery case.

The 510-510 adapter is important and is key to make everything fit.
I just drill a hole of battery case so the 510-510 adapter can fit in.
Then just solder the positive and negative wires correctly.

Done!

What bothers me the most with the original Vamo and similar tube mod is the weight and size.
They are too long, the weight is significant, and often the center of the weight is off.

The box shape is really the way to go.

So far the mod is going strong. It's not pretty but I don't care that much as it's for my own use and not for show.
Practically this one is my favorite go to now!!!

Absofreakinglutely agreed. VAMO's get to be tiresome to hold onto due to the top heavy nature of the thing. Shortening it down to 18350 mode only makes the problem worse.

Not all that elegant, but it sure is a creative solution you got 'dere! :p Oh, and it eliminates the problem of a flippin' VAMO falling over, falling off, and rolling away all the time. Major reason for dead VAMO's. Yours is now gonna fall over and... just sit there.

A bit sad not many people are interested.... :(

But I have used the mod for about 3 weeks now and can't be happier with it!

Here is a prettier one:

The original Vamo V2 was in really bad shape, with all the scratches, as you can see in the pictures of the post #1.
So this time I used my newer Vamo v4. All other things are pretty much the same.

The advantages of this Mod, which I found and can confirm after using it for weeks, are:

1. super light. If use the aluminum vamo top half, the total weight is only 30g. As a comparison, the taifun atomizer itself weights 100g.

Using stainless vamo top half, the total weight is about 60g (about the weight of a 18650 battery.)

2. super easy to make. I bet this is the easiest mod ever, IN HISTORY, to make.

I made the second one in literally 5 minutes.

(BTW, it's VV/VW. Usually VV/VW is not that easy to diy. )

3. most importantly, it's very sturdy and doesn't break.

In my several weeks' experience, I have yet to find a way to break the mod:)
It should last as long as a Vamo could last.

Really want to promote this mod :), as it is pretty damn good and meet almost all my requirements.

Besides the few advantages listed above, it's also super small. I can pocket it easily, unlike vamo or even a normal mech mod.

Every day when I reach out for a device, I always pick up this one: smallest, lightest, very robust, fully functional VW... what more can I ask for?

I give it a name: SuperE Mod.

'SuperE' just stands for super easy.

Originally I thought the name could be 'SE-Vamo', to give credits to whomever designed Vamo. But this mod can be created using other VV/VW tube mod as well, so, 'SuperE Mod' it is!

If you find it interesting to you, please leave a msg or like it. So anyone who are in need could find this more easily!

Do you leave it open faced or can it be closed up?

It's exactly how the picture shows. The battery is half open, but all controls, lcd, and circuits are closed in the vamo tube.

I have been thinking about all closed 18650 mod for a very long time. Actually my first mod is 16450 battery based and is fully closed .
However, fully closed mod requires opening holes for lcd, control buttons, and securing the 510 connections etc. It take lots of time to make these right and neat.

The current SuperE mod goes around these problems by reusing the Vamo control tube.

Basically, all the fully closed 18650 cases on the market now, require a lot of work to re-do whatever the vamo tube offers.
