I smoked menthols and black and milds before I started using e-cigs. I bought a juice called insane and it tastes pretty good, it's 2.4% nic according to the bottle and being a newbie I'm not exactly sure what that means since the numbers don't correlate to anything I've seen so far. My best guess is that it means it has a low level of nicotine in the juice.
2.4% == 24mg juice --that's about as high of a nic content as you will find (easily)
I use 6mg in my drippers and 9mg in the few tanks that I use.

Actually that's fairly strong nic. I believe it translates to 24 mg per ml. I vape 3 - 6 mg per. When you start getting into stronger devices, if that suites your fancy, you'll notice the differences in nic levels. More vapor volume the more nic is being released and absorbed. Traditional Ecigs (vuse @ 4.8% and the rest @ or below 2.5%) tend to be on the higher side because they produce less vapor. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here as I'm speaking from experience.

Have you tried any menthol juices to compare to? I find I'm not a fan of most menthols but some mixes work well.

For the gear you are using, 24 mg (or 2.4 percent) sounds about right. That is the same strength juice they use in the blu's. Of course, cigalikes are grossly inefficient so having a higher nicotine content works better. When I started vaping I also used the 24 mg juice. Once I upgraded to better equipment, I dropped my nicotine levels pretty quickly down to 6 mg.

Using an atmos Jr with juice is essentially a wickless dripper...

The atmos junior is not an ecigg device... thats for the "hippies"
You should consider trying the better sized mods again but this time buy one that is actually intended for e-juice, and not "dry solids"

im a sub ohm tootie puffin hippy. but im not using the atmos junior:)

2.4% nicotine is roughly equivalent to 24 milligrams per milliliter. And again, a rough estimate, is 20 drops of ejuice is equivalent to one millileter. I have heard of blue cartriges holding about .8 millileters. So, a 24mg blu has roughly 19.2 mg of nicotine if you vaped the cartridge dry.

Now, the industry knows, vaping and smoking are totally different and there needs to be a study done on exactly how much nicotine is absorbed through vaping.. they pretty much realize it's different, but they don't know by how much. a popular belief is that vaping actually absorbs less nicotine, but no studies have been done.

With that out of the way, a reguar cigarette, say pall mall, has about 1.7 mg of nicotine. So, one blu cartridge holds the same nicotine as roughly 11 Pall Mall's.

I know there's going to be some backlash and corrections needed, so please chime in if I am wrong.

Welcome! I started with decent equipment and decided that I would get some pre-mixed juice of the same flavor in different strengths to gauge what felt right for me. I got 12, 18 , and 24. The 24 was far too strong so I backed down to the 18, it was a little too strong so I mixed the 12 and 18 to make 15, which seemed about right.

I'm totally new to vaping. I haven't ever vaped. I need to learn everything involved.

Been here, felt this. Lurk this forum. The itch will overwhelm you;) You'll be scratchin in no time. Are you currently smoking? Have you had a chance to try vaping yet?

Edit:

Sorry just saw you posted an hour ago. What turned you on to vaping if you haven't tried it?

Holy crap I had no idea. Thank you to all who chimed in. I actually just went and bought a blackhat winder which is apparently the same as an ego twist, a smok hbc 6ml tank, and 6mg juice which is super delicious. All in all the setup is pretty perfect for my needs right now.

Sounds like you got the ball rolling. When I started I just had the non twist Kanger Evod. The twists were just making their way in and were super expensive. I told myself I didn't need to up my volts or watts. Of course that changed as soon as I bought newer and better cartos. Also, I have found the flavor is better with lower nic levels when you can up the power output. Maybe just my opinion, but I think Ive heard this elsewhere. Anyways, enjoy :toast::vapor:

Congrats on your new setup. For an occasional smoker, and not an addicted smoker, that setup is fine. No need to upgrade. Just keep in mind, what is good for me, may not be good for you, and what's ideal for you, may not work for me. But we're all doing basically the same thing. I was on the EGO/CE5 setup 2 years ago. but I am coming from a smoking habit, so I needed to "up my game". If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
