Hi there! This is not my idea, I stole it from the russian forum and only now had a chance to experiment.

The idea is having a very short wick on a genesis. Instead of reaching to the bottom of the tank, it only pokes 1/4" into the tank.

Disadvantage:
Have to tip to vape. Not really a big deal to me, since I tilt to vape regardless of the wick

Advantages:
1. Seems to wick faster, though it might be just my setup
2. If you tilt it the opposite way, you can dry burn without unloading the juice
3. Smaller "heat sink", faster response
4. Doesn't warm up the juice in the tank, so it doesn't steep as you vape.
5. Seems like cleaner flavor. Might be just cause it's a new wick, but the original thread that gave me that idea mentioned cleaner flavor too.

I've done this with cotton in a genesis. Even going to the extreme where the cotton wick was only long enough to touch the top of the wick hole. The juice would pour into the wick hole and onto the wick. Should work the same with ss.

me too. I'm trying it with braided cotton cord, only above wick hole, in Mini Did Clone, cause I wanted the coil closer to 1/8" (the hole is tiny). I'm really liking it. I got the idea from my Frankendripper (AGA-T). Flavor is much better, re-wicking is 4 seconds, with a free dry burn of coil only, to boot. Genisis Schmenisis. You describe it differently, OP; but I call it a dripper with the juice supply incorporated. A little better than a dripper, tho, cause of the way the air hits the coil and circulates in a big-dome atty.
