NOT AN ENTRY:#3 I use 510 batteries and a 306 atomizer to drip and found it to be the best drip set up I've had so far. I too usually get a month, or longer using a 306 atomizer.
It also sounds like I don't need an rba unless I own a VV device. This confuses me. Are RBAs worth it if they can only be used with VV devices? It appears then that there is no option for an RBA for someone like me. (My setup: Riva 510 with cartos or 306 atty to drip)
vsummer1: Do you mean the RBA will blow ego type batteries and that a multimeter is an undesireable device for someone like me? I thought the multimeter was desireable to test the coil on an RBA prior to use.![]()
I should clarify. The multimeter is BUILT IN the Provari and the VV Gripper. Of course you can use a stand alone multimeter, but I just didn't want to pay the money for one when I could put the same money into a PV with that function already included. I wanted easy. I just put the RBA on the ProV or Gripper, read the ohms and adjust my volts. If the vape changes or the unit throws a code or won't fire, I take a look at it and see what is causing the short and fix it. Sometimes it is a blown coil, and I have to recoil. There is no warning of this, the coil can break down with use and will pop when its time is over.
When the coil shorts, for whatever reason - and they do - or if the coil pops it will blow your unprotected eGo or similar device. Dead eGo's are no fun and must be replaced. As for other units, I do not know if they have protection against shorts or not as I don't own them. I will never use a RBA on my eGo.
I do not know if the Riva is VV to adjust to your coil ohms and I do not know if the circuitry is protected.
ETA: if you don't have any circuitry to get fried, like in a mechanical, you can use an RBA on it as well and it is not VV.
