Hi folks

I had my mother in law over for dinner today, she brought her iTaste SVD over for me to have a look at.

The tank was knackered, figured that out pretty easily, however the actual device is knackered too, as far as I can tell.

Her battery was showing 3.4v and the light was red when I test fired it. I popped in a fresh 18650 battery and checked the battery voltage, showed 3.4v. Weird. I popped in another fully charged battery, same reading.

It vapes, but it's glowing red indicating the battery is dead. I vaped on it for half an hour or so and the voltage dropped to 3.2 when checking the battery on the unit. It eventually refused to fire. I checked the battery and reading 4v on a multimeter.

I'm guessing there's something gone wrong with it, a google search didn't fetch up much. Is it a one for the bin or is there a fix anyone knows of? Works fine apart from thinking the batteries are dead, when they are not.

I've just ordered her an MVP V2 (she likes having a backup to her main mod). It's just got me stumped if I'm honest!

Clutching at straws I know, she's only had it a couple of months :/

Did you try taking the battery out and pressing the power button for 10 seconds. It clears the memory of the chip..... or so they say

I just checked that and it does not clear the memory.

Most likely, some of the e-liquid may have seeped into the device. You did say there was an issue with the topper, so this sounds plausible.

I'd check the warranty from where you got the SVD, if it's relatively new, ask for a replacement!

Yeah the tank was spinning (literally) the base had broken away and there was some e-liquid on the 510 connection on the MOD. It's probably that. It works beyond the battery settings which is annoying. Cheers for the advice, I'll keep a hold of it to check resistance (which it still does well) - it's being retired from active duty though.

It was an Ebay purchase, I may ping the seller and ask about warranty but not holding my breath.
