Which piece is the 510 connector? I'm guessing the coil came loose and it's touching either the screws or the air flow hole below it.

Looks like you have a short on the deck because of the screw?! Not safe to use on mechanical w/o kick at the moment!

What about center pin on 510 connector? It shouldnt touch the sides! But its an authentic kayfun so this would be really weird.

By the way I'm using it on an mvp 2 so it's regulated. Not to worry

Mvp will auto shut down when shorting out. ;) Center pin looks just fine. If you wrap the leads once around then there is no way that the wire will snap off. I guess you had a bad luck with that one. They should replace the deck for you!

Seems ok to me. I was able to tighten it a little though. What are you saying that would cause? The screws slipping or something else?

if the center pin is loose it cause the one of the posts to move around off the isolator and touch metal. this causes a short. or, maybe with your regulated device, to show screwy ohm readings or error-out.

coil looks messy. is the leg on left (lower side) touching anything? kinda looks like it, but I cant see for sure.

try wrapping with this method instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7o7RFoTtw0

just follow the first method in the video precisely, step by step.

or maybe the ohm reading function on that mvp sucks..?

if it was a short the ohms would be dropping, not increasing.. increasing ohms indicate a loose connection

I don't think it's touching anything. I tried his method first but it was extremely difficult for me for 2 reasons:

1. He set the coil down with the ends of the wire on the top of the coil rather than the bottom - it was harder to get the wire around the screw that way.

2. He wrapped the wire around the screws counterclockwise which doesn't make any sense to me. Every time I screwed it down it pushed the wire loose. Common sense tells me it should wrap clockwise because then when I screw it down I'm screwing the same direction as the wrap.

What I mean is, he tells you over and over to make sure the ends are coming out under the screw rather than over and then when he tells you the ends that go under which screw he's essentially unwrapping the coil a half turn and essentially making the ends as if they were coming over, negating what he said.

Maybe I'm just missing something but right here in the video this is where he shows the ends should go.

The orientation of the coil over the airflow hole does not really matter, diagonal, perpendicular, parallel to the mounting blocks. Do what works for you. I wrap 6 times around a 5/32 drill bit, and it works perfect every time. Between 1.0-1.2 ohms depending on the length of the legs.

My buddy bought a clone (don't know brand, but it was a 3.1) and the positive screw hole stripped out. Ended up getting him an H-Cigar lite instead. However the entire rebuild kit was about $13.
