So let me start by saying I love frenilla, Kent is aware, many here are aware, I've sang its praises on many threads in thee liquid forums. Ok, so an interesting thing happened, I picked up some frenilla and doodle from classifieds, they were purchased in February, I thought hey, I've never had frenilla that was steeped that long, I've always used it up within 10 weeks. Sooooo when it arrived I immediately filled my reo and put in a new wick expecting to be in a French vanilla haze for a few hours, but I alas was disappointed, it actually has less flavor then by 8 week old frenilla. thinking something was wrong I switched to my secondary cycle and tried under 3 other known to me frenilla builds, and same results.

So question is has anyone noticed reverse steep happening? It was from classifieds maybe stored poorly? Don't get me wrong it's not the end of the world if I have to vape every drop of frenilla I own at between 8-10 weeks, he'll that's normally what happens anyway but I have been collecting extra lately to try the long steep and now after this experience I'm thinking just enjoy the heck out of it instead.

I just recently finished a bottle of Frenilla from Feb and it was super delicious. Ive found at 10 weeks it wasnt nearly as good. Sounds like maybe it wasnt stored properly. I used to remove the lids from bottles and sometimes would forget and would notice diminished flavor so maybe thats what happened.

There's lots of variables, but if the person from whom you received the liquid didn't store it properly... like, left the bottles sitting around without caps, etc... no bueno. Exposure to heat, etc.

Reverse steeping doesn't happen with Frenilla - I am tooting on the Feb batch as we speak and it's dynamite!~

I've got 250 mls but other then the February batch my oldest is May, I love the May batches, so I'm going to keep 50 of the May batch and let it go till September, I'll keep vaping the other 50 from May till gone, I'll take 50 from July and start using it in mid august at which point I'll also start hitting the strawnilla cause I'm positive it will be where I want, with GCD and band camp in between and deep steep the rest under my own control in case the May hits like I hope in sept..

I do think it was just not stored correctly, the doodle bottle I got from February with it is off as well, I'm thinking that's why the person listed it, but no biggie I wanted to test anyway.

Hey guys. :toast:

I find that it maybe loses a little bit of flavor, less that 5%, but I think that is attributed to it becoming smoother. Nothing like you are describing.

Okay, so we all know I am bad at describing stuff and constantly have my foot stuck in my mouth. Let's see if I can get both feet in there.

Fresh Frenilla has a lot of flavor, smack you in the face flavor. It's not sharp or harsh, but it doesn't feel like it covers the complete palate like well steeped Frenilla. Well steeped Frenilla coats my whole tongue, while fresh Frenilla hits real hard on a few different "frequencies". Well steeped does lose a bit of edge to it, but it changes from being a "vape" experience to almost a drinking experience. I think that the Frenilla you got might not have been stored correctly or lost something in transit through the mail. I've got one bottle of PBC that got messed up in the mail, while other bottles from separate shipments (from the same batch though) taste great. Of course that was overseas shipping.

I'm sure no expert, but maybe you just like it better with less steep time. I'm only saying this because when I received my very first bottle of The Virus I immediately started using it and just loved the taste. I still enjoy it no matter what the steep time is (measured in days or weeks, not months). But if I had my choice, it would be fresh out of the mail...

Certainly a possibility!
