Been away from DIY for a few years, now I'm getting back into it. In the past, I've never felt the need for any sweeteners in my mixes, but I've encountered a few flavorings recently that really need a little extra sweetness

Wondering what sweetener options are out there nowadays that you guys are using and if any of them tend to affect the flavor (beyond adding sweetness). My mixes are generally high VG (60-90%) if that matters

Thanks in advance for any input :)

Ethyl Maltol (EM- comes in crystals that can be diluted in pg, 1/4 tsp to 10 ml) softens sharpness of flavors and adds to the sweet. Cotton Candy (unflavored) is also made with EM, Marshmallow adds sweetness, and you can buy sweetener, but don't get it from the grocery, Im certain there are more.

Re: Liquid Stevia? | E-Cigarette Forum
See Hic's,
"Stevia has a unique flavor. Beware - I suggest you try a drop or two to sweeten your coffee/tea before mixing it for vaping. You'll get that same flavor when vaping it. Some people find it pleasant, others detest it."
I use it at almost (approx. 1% less) same recommended levels as TFA Sweetener. I did not detect any real taste difference between Sweetener and Stevia.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll probably pick up some of the TFA sweetener or Cotton Candy next time I order flavoring. I've got plenty of other mixes going that don't need any sweetner, it's just a few particular flavorings so far that are lacking, so I'm in no hurry there.

Interesting thought to use stevia, I usually have some liquid extract on hand for use in my tea, but I'm all out at the moment. Maybe I'll give that a try when I re-stock :) So when you use it, are you just adding the straight stevia or are you diluting it with PG first?

If you are going to try sucralose, you may want to get a "sample" here for $2.99 shipped
Liquid Sucralose Sweetener 0.2 oz Sample - Sweet Solutions Corp.

It is extremely potent. I rarely use it but, when I did, I diluted 3 drops of ez sweets in 30 ml of PG to use in my mixes.

I would lean more towards Stevia which can be purchased in liquid form at GNC.

I use Stevia. Use the Stevia rebaudana based liquid, it is sweet with no bitterness. I get mine at GNC NuNaturals Clear Stevia.
All Stevia is not alike some is not as good.
I cannot tolerate the taste or effects of artificial sweeteners but Stevia is good with me.
