Hi, quite new to the e cig thing. I've used the skycig to make the move from rollies, & it's done the job nicely. 18 days now. However battery life & amount of times I have to refill the cartridges has made me buy the riva 1100 kit as suggested by many on the forum. It came yesterday, but straight away the clearomiser gave me a massive hit. Too much really. Guess it's going to be more than skycig cause of the battery power, but what I want to know is will dropping nicotine mg smooth the hit. I'm using 18mg which was fine in the skycig, but this in the riva seems too much, and actually gives me a bad head if take back too much. Thinking 12mg might be better to stick with it? Any thoughts & tips welcome,

Yes. It will.
If you get same flavor bottle of same size at 0 nic level and mix them. That should give you 9mg (which is close to what you want).

And try some 8mg (low nic).

People over estimate what nic they want. I though that I need hi nic levels and I end up at 8mg or lower. I even have a few bottles of 0 nic juice to mix with my other 8mg nic juice to bring it down to 4mg nic.

Too much nic will give you a bad headache and upset stomach. So just take small vap and stop before getting to the right nic level for your juice.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply, that's makes sense. I've got quite a few 10ml bottles in different flavours, would an unflavoured bottle at zero nicotine do the job?

Also, I've realised the cartomiser seems to be less harsh than the clearomiser, but seem to be topping it up after almost every vaping session. Inconvenient when the clearomiser looks like it'll last a full day.

So much to learn, but good fun & keeps the mind off the real fags.

You can also use some Vegetable Glycerin to knock the nicotine level of your liquid down. VG is sold in the skin care section of most major pharmacies and should be easy to find.

The extra benefit of VG is that it tends to mask or smooth the throat hit of nicotine, so a little bit goes a long way and it's a cheap option.
