Hey Crazyfingers...are you a mouth-to-lung inhaler or a straight lung hitter. Some "advanced" products are geared more for sum-ohm, cloud-chasing lung-hitters. The Atlantis being a huge culprit with the Orchid (RTA) and Mephisto (RDA) rounding out the atty types. If you're a mouth-to-lung vaper, and looking to try building, there are many choices in the RTA range...Kayfun, Lemo, Fogger, etc. But for an RDA, you're much more limited. I have a Magma I build in single coil mode that produces great flavor and the airflow can be adjusted from wide open to near closed off. If you let us know your vape style, I'm sure you'll get much more accurate information.

If you're already using the Nautilus, you're probably already doing direct lung hits, since the Nautilus doesn't really work well with Mouth to Lung. That being said, I just recently made the same move, and it was a real game changer for me. I started off with a Vapor Shark rDNA 40, and it's a great mod, but when I stepped up to the Sigelei 150, my world changed again. I found that I really, really liked a warmer vape than I thought I would, and the flavor and vapor produced by the RDA's are amazing. Depending upon the build and the juice, I now run the DNA at full 40w most of the time, and my Segelei anywhere from 60 to 80 watts. I also still run my Atlantis and Kanger Sub-Tank on either mod (great for driving), but I have to turn the watts down for those.

After a month, I've now got 7 RDA's, and my favorites are the Wotofo Troll, the Mutation X v3, and a Polished Tugboat. I like a deep juice well to reduce the incidences of dripping, and a lot of adjustable airflow. Vaping has now become a very intense hobby for me, and I love trying different coil builds and experimenting. Go for it! I think you'll love it...

Hey all,
Currently I'm using an mvp 2.0 w/ Aspire Nautilus. I like this setup but am curious about getting into advanced vaping. I'm really looking for recommendations on devices and rda's and retailers that sell them that also won't break the bank.
Thanks!

"advanced vaping"

What comes to mind are:
1: temperature controlled mods (like dna40)
2: kanger subtank.

1: the temperature control probably has some way to go still so I wouldn't advise the economy minded to buy right now; it doesn't work with kanthal for example, you need special wire.

2: the subtank comes with both
(a) a regular type replaceable head where the electrical contact is dependent on pressure between metal and a soft grommet; the head seems easy to rebuild too.
(b) an rba head with screws and posts like a proper rebuildable; so instead of buying a few rba decks so that you can line up a few ready to go coils, you can get a few rba heads, and replace you head at any time like a regular clearo.

I have to put my two cents on the Lemo (or Lemo Drop). Really a nice RTA. I've had a few leaking problems, but I think that's cleared up with using more wick. The Lemo seems to need a ton of cotton. I use the Bunny Ears method (sticking out the top of the chimney, and then tucking), and I've actually left like 1/2 inch of cotton out the top of the cap. That seems to give me the richest flavor. The juice wells are so deep you can't really stop them up, at least I've never had a dry hit at 15 watts.

check out the ipv mini 2. its a 70 watt mod u can get for $60 and free shipping at vaporDNA. use this code for $10 off : VTRz7Zws5k

seems like a good starter mod imo. u need to buy a 18650 battery tho. dont get a cheap battery get a nice one to be safer. around 2400 mah and it will last longer.
I believe that mod uses the same chip as my iPV 2S. Great mod.

vividsmoke has good clones by infinite. almost identical and a quarter of the price. make sure to get some kanthal 28 gauge is what most people start with ive heard. then after that watch riptrippers on youtube to build a coil and get u some cotton balls and your all set.
I've had a very hard time working with 28g. I use 24g on my Plume Veil and can build with my eyes closed.

Advanced vaping can mean a lot of things. That being said, your desire for flavor or clouds is important. I noticed that you are using a limited MVP 2.0, I would look to upgrading that. Flavor is easy with 30 watts and most people don't even go over 20. This forum is heavy on enthusiastic hobbyists that quickly recommend systems that 90% don't use. But, circuitry goes up when you hit a DNA40 or SX350 board. Another thing to keep in mind is that the MVP, VV series from Itaste ad the Provari have very good power management. There are probably others, though.

You mentioned The Aspire Nautilus. It is a fairly good clearomizer, but rebuilding will get better flavor and clouds. There are MANY RTA/RDA/RBTAs out there. Personally, I am using a Lemos right now.

All of this costs and clones will help somewhat. When I first started I was spending about $170 a month on cigs. I said okay, I will spend that to get me started.

Just my thoughts. Hope helps and good luck!
