All I got from it was wet t-shirt taste. I tried butchers twine and ordinary cotton balls.[/QUOTE] Gotta wash your hands before make a wick, I learned the hard way
Yes. Every time you take a draw, it creates a vacuum that pulls the juice through those grooves and into the wick. Once you release, the pressure inside the tank is equalized and thus prevents the liquid from escaping through the air flow and evap chamber. Really cool design. The screw on the bottom is for filling the tank with juice.
NICE!!! I need to get some cotton balls or some yarn now, I have been using Q tip heads on my drippers. Have been wondering if the cotton would get choked... will be trying this soon.`

This is getting interestinger and interestinger.
I ordered a genesis type already, glass; if I could find a bottom coil rebuildable with glass I'd take that too; I think I saw an all metal one.

The art is getting wick packed into coil just right.
Two indicators are visible dry coil after vaping and burnt vapor smell when cap is off.
With 3/32" coil you can start w/ loose wick and gradually pack wick tighter w/ blunt tool until wicking is perfect.

From my experience, you want the cotton to be snug in the coil but not enough that it drags the coil when you pull it from either end. That being said, I still have a bit of practicing to do, but the one I built is holding up pretty well. On day 2.
For some reason I keep trying cotton builds ... and it only works well for me in RDAs. Just doesn't wick fast enough for my Genesis tank use and it tastes so nasty when it burns! Had a Kayfun that worked ok but leaked so much I sold it... maybe cotton would have worked? Might have to get another of that bottom style and try again?
