You're right!

Let's pretend smok doesn't have a bad reputation and hope his mod doesn't blow up like the ladies in general discussion, have the paint wear off within a month like the thousands of alien users, or come back and post later about coils lasting a day.

Again, personal preference. If his personal preference is Smok products, no one is stopping him.

Seeing that Smok just put together a customer support page to deal with all the problems they have, I guess now at least he has contact information to reach them.

...unless he's Canadian. Since Smok doesn't honour warranties here.
Thanks for the input...

Welcome aboard Hambone. We have similar tastes in mods. My T-Priv was my first 2 battery mod. It has performed flawlessly for me. I got a TFV12 Prince for Christmas which works great on the T-Priv. I get good life out of the coils, the settings menu is easy to use and it has pretty lights which was the deciding factor when I bought it.

Recently the shinyitis bug got a hold of me and I found myself trying to decide between the Mag and the Switcher. I'm now waiting for my Switcher to arrive. I wanted the option of using cCell coils (I use these in my Target Pro) and the Switcher LE has pretty lights. But I probably would have been just as happy with the Mag.

I worked on CT Scanners and MRIs for nearly 40 years. The last company I worked for is the biggest producer of medical equipment. We had the best Engineers and Technicians in the business. The parts I ordered and replaced were valued in the thousands of dollars each and went through quality assurance checks. With all that said, I still got the occasional DOA part. A few actually caught fire. This company is still considered the best in the business even though quite a few people think they are greedy.

The point is buy what you like. If you get a lemon, it will likely fail within the warranty period.
Thanks so much for the information I really appreciate it... I'm no stranger to medical equipment LoL.... when I was 18 I flipped a truck 7 times and was ejected heart was stopped for roughly 5 minutes before ems so from learning how to do everything again I am not stranger to the MRI and other equipment and wow that's impressive MAJOR CASH!!!!! I also figured no matter what mod I get there will be issued that someone has experienced prior, so it's all good... thanks again

Choices in the mod market are overwhelming. I would encourage you to look at Smoant, Vaporesso, Aspire, as well as Smok. If this will be your everyday mod I'd personally go with a Smoant Cylon. I have one on the way. I already have 3 Smoant mods and all are solid devices.

The only problem with Smok is qc, if you don't get a lemon they are okay tho tc is questionable. Wismec Ravage is getting a lot of positive feedback here on the forums as well. Don't disregard older mods. Great deals in clearance section on many sites.

Congrats to the "Anything But Smok" campaign! Looks like you have another "win." I can only wonder how many of "the comments", this thread and elsewhere, are made by those with little or even no personal experience with Smok poroducts?

I've used SMOK products. My family members have used SMOK products. I have sold them when I worked in a vape shop, too. I stand by my previous negative commentaries from experience. In my opinion, if SMOK made products in any other industry they would be out of business.

I've also owned and sold Smok products from a shop. QC is terrible. Lost count of how many returns we had from experienced vapers over Smok mods. Of course qc worked for the shop concerning Smok coils, could retire on those coil sales. As I said if you are lucky and don't get a lemon they are okay. I'm not spending my money on a definite maybe.

Well, that was quick!

So are you saying these two shops stopped selling Smok products altogether? The shop I frequent (5 locations in 2 cities) cut way back due to returns/complaints on one of the mods. Now they can't get enough to keep up with demand. Regional manager told me the demand and satisfied customers more then offset any problems they encounter.

I get that you did not like your experience with Smok products and that is fine. But surely there are a lot of happy Smok users around and they can't all be wrong!

Agree the complainers are the most vocal. No the shops didn't stop carrying the mods, they make too much money on them. I do know 1 of 3 sold were returned.

FYI.. I just got my Switcher. Took me about 10 minutes to set up and prime the coil. Let it set for about 30 minutes after filling the tank. I brought the wattage slowly from 20W and found my sweet spot at 42W. Nice...I'm making nice clouds with good flavor with the GT8 coil. And it has pretty lights as well. Well worth the money.

I would sure think if 1 in 3 mods sold were returned, Smok was not ignoring the shop. I would be curious if that is for all mods (I could see that on the early Alien paint thing) and if those are current numbers or from some time ago.

Actually the returns were for dying in less than 3 months. First the screen would die and 2-3 days later the buttons would die too. Distributer was told by Smok it was just a bad run. We searched and could find no info from Smok about bad runs or recalls.
I'm happy you are having a good experience with your Smok products. Just don't get grouchy with those of us who have not had your experience with them.

I prefer not to be grouchy! But I am trying to figure out whether it is worth trying to help posters with questions or problems with their Smok products, purchases they already made, knowing the inevitable "anything but Smok" posts are bound to be made. It's hard to turn my back on those asking for help, but that appears to be my best and only option.

The non smok mod. Seriously though the switcher seems like a nice mod and I don’t care for the hit or miss nature of the smok mods. A lot of companies have QC issues but smok’s seem to be more prevalent. Just my opinion and I wish you luck on your next mod purchase. I’m a Smoant fan they are great but voopoo, Tesla, and vaporesso also have good mods in others opinions. Again good luck in whatever you decide.

OP didn't need help with a Smok product, just help choosing a mod. You like them and can recommend them, I do not and can offer other options.:)

Actually, no.

Trying to figure out to get a Smok mag or a Switcher..... Thoughts???? The wife wants my T priv.... so time to upgrade

To which I gave a clear response that I could not comment on the Switcher, but gave my opinions on the mag, both pro and con. Should you care to re-read the thread, I think you will find no other comments or opinions about the Mag, just "anything but Smok" or suggestions other then the Mag or Switcher.
