I've decided to take the plunge and upgrade my tank, I heard great things about Protanks and decided to go with the Protank 2. It should be here tomorrow. What I wanna know is basically what to expect lol I'm still new so it's basically like trying a new candy bar! It's like I know I like chocolate, but now I wanna go from snickers to kit kats or whatnot. Is there anything I should watch out for when trying a new tank? Sorry if this is a silly question but I don't exactly fit in at our local shops so I tend to do things online as much as possible.

I'm still using a couple eGo Twists right now. I can't really afford a mech mod atm, even a clone lol I'd still need the batteries and the charger and the ohm meter for rebuilding coils (don't know how to do that yet, but soon! haha). The eGo's have been great though :D!

As long as it keeps ya off the analogs, that's good. Some mods aren't as expensive as you might think. When you're ready, consider this: Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape Best thing you can do is advance at your pace. A lot of folks, me included, spent a ton of $$ cause "Hey! That guy has something better" when what I had worked just fine. I use a Provari now because it was a gift from a client. Wasn't gonna say "No". :D

You can certainly expect an improvement in your vaping experience, make sure the coil is tightened in your protank base to minimize leaks, then fill the tank, let the wicks soak the juice for a few minutes before vaping it, and enjoy. Oh you can expect some degree of leaking at least that's been my experience with every PT or any atty that uses the same kanger coil.

Wow I was actually looking for that thing a little while ago LOL I didn't know what it was called or anything, I just saw a guy using it (the Innokin) or something similar with a Protank on Youtube! For that price it's not bad at all, I figured it was going to be a lot more than 40 bucks though. I'm not looking for a mod to demonstrate my manhood, I just want what works for me. Saw a guy at the vape store with something I swear I could have used to ward off a pack of angry 3rd graders.

I'm familiar with variable voltage by now, but what's the wattage do? I'm just looking for some basic insight is all :) And I wouldn't have said no either!! I love freebies haha

What should I do about leaks? All I've read are just complaints but there's not really any info I could find that says "Leaks cause xyz"

Should you have any leaks, a couple things to try. Like JaRod said, make sure the coil is tightened in your protank base. Check "O" rings to make sure they're seated correctly and, there will be a grommet on the chimney of the atty. Either turn it up-side down so the "pocket" of the grommet is upward or before you put it in your tank, with the grommet still with the "pocket" down, slide it up the chimney just a hair and tighten the base down. This will let the tank seat the grommet.

I actually just finished watching a video about assembling the protank 2 for noobies and it pretty much mirrors what you've posted. I'll be careful and take it as a learning experience. Really looking forward to this thing showing up in my mailbox tomorrow... let's just hope that the USPS was relatively gentle lol

I like my PT2s. I lost some of the O-rings that the glass seats on, so I bought some more. They made a big difference. as to sealing. I guess the ones that came with it are...not as good.

Anyway, I really like them. I do wish they had a 3.5ml size. Cover my time at work.

I also clean my coils now. Same routine I do for the rest of the tank. Very simple.

I really like that about the Protank 2, vaping in general actually. It's all relatively modular. If something breaks or has a defect, it seems that you can usually fix it without having to replace the whole thing. I checked Kanger's website and for $10 I can get 100 O rings lol I'll probably get right on that!

Your T3S is eGo threaded:

The protank2 is 510 threaded:

That 510 thread is designed for cigalikes.

To upgrade from your T3S you should look for the miniprotank2:

I use protanks myself, but I use the base from the miniprotank on them instead of the 510 threaded base they came with; have to add a second silicone cap inverted on the atomizer for them to fit snug.

Setting the wattage means when you change the coil and the replacement is a higher resistance, the modbox compensates for that and raises the voltage to maintain the same wattage.

Otherwise you'd have to be paying attention to your coil resistance and adjusting voltage when you change coils.

Jaymus - Your ego twist are ego and 510 threaded so you should be fine without adding anything to the atty.

Took me a while to figure out there was a question there.

No.

But then again it's not actually a question; it's really just another prvr publicity gimmick. Any publicity is good publicity.

No, she was gently correcting you. Most cigalikes are 808 threaded but not all. An eGo itself is not only eGo threaded but 510 threaded as well. She just happened to have a Provari to illustrate. There is no need for fancy adapters to put a Protank 2 on any eGo. That said, you may want a thread cover to cover the eGo threads.
