No, she was gently correcting you. Most cigalikes are 808 threaded but not all. An eGo itself is not only eGo threaded but 510 threaded as well. She just happened to have a Provari to illustrate. There is no need for fancy adapters to put a Protank 2 on any eGo. That said, you may want a thread cover to cover the eGo threads.

I thought that a thread cover (now that I know what it's called!) might come with the tank, so I held off on buying one. But if it doesn't come with one then I'll definitely order one. Or just suck it up and make a brief trip to the local shop.

What should I do about leaks? All I've read are just complaints but there's not really any info I could find that says "Leaks cause xyz"

Bottom coil tanks do tend to leak because of gravity. One of the problems with the 510 cigalike thread, is a very tiny leak causes severe problems.

Soooo.. you mean to say that the 510 thread is not used on cigalikes?

Just a couple little points that may or may not have been answered!!

1 - I have a bunch of pricey tanks, but I still use Protank1, Protank 2, MiniProtank1, 1.5, and 2 (the 1.5 was a batch that got made with a removable glass but not a removable tip).

2 - The Protank DOES come with a "cone" to cover Ego threads nicely - I THINK you were asking about that...

3 - I also recommend that you pick up, at some point, the "Aerotank Base" - it provides simple but effective control of airflow for your ProTank

4 - I use tweezers, and carefully pull OUT a SINGLE strand of the wick - to allow MORE juice to flow in to the coil. This does increase the possibility of a leak, but I really don't get anything more than a tiny drop on the battery connection. I do that because it gets me bigger, juicier vapor with my protank - and lets it "keep up" if I'm vaping heavily, or at slightly higher voltage. With the full stock factory wick, it seems to me to be choked and I can get the occasional "dry hit"...

Lots of people recommend the Nautilus as another good glass clearomizer to try, in case you're still shopping.
I have more than I need (I use cartotanks, and Russians, and drippers, too) so I never got one of those...

Hope you like it!
:D

I've decided to take the plunge and upgrade my tank, I heard great things about Protanks and decided to go with the Protank 2. It should be here tomorrow. What I wanna know is basically what to expect lol I'm still new so it's basically like trying a new candy bar! It's like I know I like chocolate, but now I wanna go from snickers to kit kats or whatnot. Is there anything I should watch out for when trying a new tank? Sorry if this is a silly question but I don't exactly fit in at our local shops so I tend to do things online as much as possible.

Just because a cigalike may have 510 connection doesnt make a 510 a cigalike.
Cigalikes are about the same size as cigarettes and are usually 510 or 808

Just clarifying. 510 connections do not take ego threads. But ego threads will take 510 but you may want a beauty ring to make it look nice.

The protank 2 comes with a beauty ring.

I maybe be totally late to this party but I LOVE my ProTank 2. I just started vaping 03/01 this year so I'm still learning but the ProTank 2 has made a huge difference for me. I'm using it on a Vision Spinner with a custom/pretty mouth piece (still learning the proper terms lol).

Not late to the party at all, I was just returning to this thread after a few hours with my brand new ProTank 2! I'm in love with this thing. It's made my eGo battery a little top heavy but it works great! Still getting used to filling it up though, I thought I was going to over fill it so I stopped at what I thought was a little short. But when the juice settled back down it was only 2/3rds of the way full lol I'll get the hang of it but for now it's working great!

Glad it's workin' for ya! Picture the bottom of the tube where the chimney goes in. I fill mine to the rim of that tube of the tank. Just keep the tank level at that point. I find it easier to use a needle point bottle tip in stead of the drip style. Good luck with it and enjoy! :vapor::toast:

Chimney... Well when I figure that out I'll be in good shape! I do have a needle tipped bottle that I keep my favorite juice in (Jackson Vapor Co. Peaches and Cream, love it so much I mention it as often as possible) which was the first juice to go in of course. And you're right, I can't imagine doing it without a needle tipped bottle. Thanks again for the help! I know you linked something regarding vaping terminology so I'll page over to that and check it out.

Ya crack me up sometimes! :D Ok. Chimney. Look at the pic on this link. Kanger Protank eVod atomizer heads in 1.8 2.2 and 2.5 ohm for $5.79 The tube above the rubber grommet is the "chimney" of the atty. That part goes in the tube of the tank. Below the grommet is your wick and then the base. Sun-Vapers has good prices on atty heads however there is a way to clean your heads so you don't have to buy as often. But that's another show!:D

Thanks for the link, both this and the other one in your later post. I just topped the tank off and it went well! I'll tiptoe into cleaning this thing eventually when I'm more comfortable with it. I do have a question about the online retailer for the heads though. Have you had past dealings with them? And what's their shipping speed like? I hear about people waiting a month for some of their stuff.

Wow! That's unusual. I've ordered several times and has been less than a week. These folks are pretty quick too. http://101vape.com/clearomizers-glassomizers/40-kanger-protank-replacement-coils.html

Add: As long as it's in stock on both vendors.

Just popping back, and will chime in - those are BOTH good vendors...
If Sun Vapers had a delay in shipping it must have been an out of stock situation - and for Kanger products, they sometimes DO have stock when no one else does!
