What were your guys times when you started to feel back to your normal self after switching from cigarettes or whatever you did. I was doing dip for about 2 years and smoking occasionally and I thought it would be easier to completely quit off dip if I did the e cigarette for a while. I'm not sure how long that will be though that's what I'm curious some of the long term people can tell me. Its my 2nd week off dip and I still feel tired but other than that I feel pretty good just have trouble concentrating on things and being more impatient also crazy dreams. So how long after you switched to the ecig did you feel like you could go a few hours without it and not be thinking of getting nicotine all the time. And how long did it take before you felt like you didn't even need the nicotine from the ecig anymore. I just want to be able to sit through a class and concentrate without feeling like I want to get out and vape or dip.

edit: Also I miss the mental clarity of cigarettes or dip im still having some foginess how long does that take to go away?

I dont know a thing about dip but it sounds like you are not using a high enough nic. What strength are you using and in what equipment? Equipment makes a big difference also. How much did you dip and or smoke?

Many of us started out with rather high nic. Getting a good hit really helps you cut back on chain vaping. Especially if you smoked heavily or used a lot of dip.

As for equipment - its not all created equal. many people do just fine with a cigarette style e-cig. but that was not nearly enough for me. I get much more vapor on an ego battery with a vivi nova tank and more vapor is more satisfying to me at any level nic!

I took a different approach to quitting a 35-year 1.5 pack per day cigarette habit. I smoked and vaped each day, gradually reducing the number of cigarettes and replacing them with vaping. It took about five months before I was down too a couple of cigarettes a day. That's when I tossed the last pack away unfinished and relied entirely on vaping. That was six months ago. I haven't touched a cigarette since.

After I start vaping in the morning it's very difficult for me to go a few hours without vaping again. I used to be able to go a couple of hours without smoking, no sweat. I guess that nicotine glued into the lungs and sinuses by all of that tar lasts a while longer than the pure nicotine from vaping.

I go through about 2 ml of 20 mg juice per day. Because vapor is a less efficient means of delivering nicotine than smoking I'm getting a lot less nicotine than I used to get from smoking. I get enough nicotine to knock out the occasional cravings I still get. And, it's enough nicotine to keep my mind bright and the brain cells firing the way I want them to. If you quit nicotine cold turkey it can take several months to a year before the mental haziness goes away (so I've heard). That process goes a lot faster if you reduce nicotine consumption to very low levels for an extended period before quitting cold turkey.

I did about a can a week so not much compared to those can a day people but I would do it constantly not going more than a hour without unless I had to. I started on a 510t with 6mg nicotine and it just kind of made me tired but then I got a 12mg nicotine and that seemed to help a lot more. But now I have the ego twist and that juice was real strong on it but I ran out of it so now I'm back to all my 6mg ones. Your right taking huge hits on the ego of 6mg seems to be enough but I still kinda chain vape it.

How much were you dipping? Congrats on making the choice to give it up. The withdrawls from quitting are brutal! Which I am sure you know. What mg of nicotine liquid are you using?

If I were you I would up it to about 18 mgs, and take a few puffs here and there. Did you chew the sweet stuff? Back in July I quit a can a day habbit of the sweet stuff. If you can do it try sucking on some candy or drinking a cup of fruit juice. It may help with the mental fog.

Yeah I can relate the mornings chain vaping that was when I would always be angry until I had my first dip of the day. I guess I just need to let myself get used to the lower nicotine levels. I don't feel my heart pounding as much as it did when I would dip and smoke so I guess that's a good thing and i'm trying to do more stuff like bike riding to help heal. Your story is real inspirational :) thank you

I dipped grizzly wintergreen mostly so not really sweet I'm not sure. What kind did you do? One thing that you made me think of mentioning candy and sugar that is I am a type 1 diabetic and ever since I quit my sugar levels have been low all the time so I think that dip must raise your sugar levels or have some sugar in it. I used to always think that it did nothing to blood sugar.

I felt a bit restless the first few days with my biggest problem craving a cigarette every few hours but by the 8th day that had pretty much disappeared. For a few months I did every few weeks get a random nasty urge to want a cigarette but it wasnt too difficult to pull out some high mg juice and within a few minutes vape my way through those random urges and those totally disappeared within a few months. A month or two into vaping I did realize that I needed to lower my mg level in the evening when I was chain vaping for hours on end in front of the computer because it was causing me to have trouble sleeping but that was easily remedied. Vaping was an all consuming obsession my first month as I vaped often and pretty much only thought about all things vape related but I could concentrate on other things when I really needed to. :)

Thank you, baraxil. As RoseB suggested, you may want to consider a higher dosage e-liquid, like 18-24 mg. That will hit you little faster than the 6-12 mg and you won't need to chain vape. I like to spend about the same amount of time vaping as I did smoking. It's not that difficult to cut down on the nicotine concentratiions when you are ready. I used 24 mg for quite a while.

Oh jeeze grizz is loaded with sugar! That was my go to cheap stuff. Yeah it will mess with your blood sugar. I know when you quit it cold turkey it can take 2-3 weeks for your blood sugar to level out. So that is an extra bonus to quitting. Cigarettes will mess with your blood sugar as well. That is going to be a huge part of the spaced out duh feeling. My husband is going to switch over and I am picking him up some 24 mg liquid. Just after going through what I went through kind of want to get him set up better. Live and learn ;)

I used to vape on 18mg nic. It was fun but I still needed cigarettes. Then I up my nic to 24mg. My first vape session on my 24mg gave me a real good "kick" and I thought, wow I can quit analogs with it. So I did. No brain fog for me with 24mg nic. In fact, it keeps me mentally alert and fully awake better than a cup of coffee.

I think dip is harder to quit, because it is different from smoking. Like Zuzette suggested, I think you need higher nic.

I think you guys are right.. I think the amount I have to vape with the 6mg just makes me tired because of the pg and vg in it or something? and it makes my lungs tired too. Next time I need to choose a different 12mg I had tribeca and it just had a huge throat hit so if I was vaping it in the twist it was killing my throat after a while of vaping it.
