I think you are correct no keystone battery connector made from a spring is going to allow enough current to flow.
I may be completely wrong and don't understand simple things but here are my thoughts.
Let's take extreme values to be safe with everything that is below those:
Max Output Current: 25A
There are even new 16ga wires coming with this chip pre-wired. Wires are copper, or close to it let's say.
This negative contact spring is close to 19ga and made of "Music Wire", which is less than .2 in terms of conductivity compared to copper. Obviously thiner wire with lower conductivity will cut the current drastically. As I see it - the -ve contact wire may appear as a bottle neck in entire circut and will allow to work with much less than 25A currents.
I'm afraid with this setup entire mod will appear below 30W device, no matter what can be produced by the chip.
And again, I might be wrong and will be happy if someone can share the knowledge and educate me a bit about all this stuffs with the -ve contacts.
As I see it - plain flush SS bottom cap adjoined to the battery itself would work much better. The only downside is that it can be barely adjusted in case if poorly manufactured or with another battery (flat/button top).
Please let me know how it will work for you, Oli. Or hopefully someone more experienced can give us advice.
Thanks!
