Sx350 headaches

So I had built a regulated box with a sx350 60w and it's been working great for months, but last week the screen would randomly get pixelated
Restarting it fixed it temporarily, but now the screen only stays on when the firing button is held
It still fires and functions normally besides that, but it's driving me nuts I thought that reflashing the firmware might fix it, but after hours and hours of searching forums I still can't get it to connect to my computer, although it worked fine the first time I upgraded it
I tried both the older sxi software and the newest software, battery removed and battery in with link mode
Any help would be massively appreciated

i had managed to get it to connect after reinstalling visual c++
then I noticed I couldn't get the same vape I had been getting before so I tried reconnecting it to install the alternative firmware, and now it isn't connecting again
and it still hasn't fixed my issue with the screen only staying on when the firing button is held
