I got the YiHi SXmini mod a few days ago ran into an issue with its "floating" 510 center pin. I hope you guys can help me with a solution.
.. Ran into an issue with the 510 center pin/screw becoming loose and floating off center in the top cap of the mod. I was trying to adjust the screw to fit my Tobh close to be closer to flush on the mod. The screw inside 510 connector sits on a G-10 washer which is not secured in anyway. The G-10 washer just sits under the screw, its not secured inside the top cap and wobbles around. I have not had this issue with my other mods with floating / self adjusting center pin, e.g. GP Paps top cap, Fatdaddy top cap on my two other box mods!!
Bottom to top stack of this YiHi mod floating screw in the top cap: Small G-10 washer around something resembling a nut, then a spring, another larger G-10 washer and then main screw inserted into the top G-10 washer which catches the "nut" at base of stack. The inside diameter of the G-10 washer is much larger than the center screw. The whole thing wobbles around !! After tightening the assembly into the bottom nut by a few threads.. The center pin moves around as I mount and unmount attys. Kind of a bummer !! the "nut" which the center pin threads into is not accessible from inside the battery cavity to be secured in place!! Have any of you guys who own SXmini noticed this or figured out a solution to this type of floating center pin/screw?
I like the SX350 board, But they didn't use a quality floating 510 pin assembly. This component gets most exposure and wear on the device. It must be solid in place.
At this price point, I'm disappointed. I have emailed YiHi, no response yett!! I guess they don't have a quality floating 510 connector for this device to offer.
Any suggestions are welcomed. I really like the form factor of the device, but it has become unusable at present.
Cheers!!
