ok so i sort of reviewed the t-rex last go round, but it was a short review, simply because i was trying the unit and did not own one. BUT! since losing my beloved 510b
i had to replace it with something. i love variety, so i decided to go t-rex, since i loved the one i tried earlier, and it's drop dead gorgeous. e-cigexpress.com was again my supplier for this order. http://www.e-cigexpress.com/Discoun....html?osCsid=f50d7513454798a66d0e53eb200fbb19
again i want to let people know that this is a great vendor, with good knowledge of his products and polite and friendly service. communication was solid, shipping was beyond fast (ordered late friday night got monday, when the mail came) and his prices are more than reasonable.
i paid cold hard cash for the unit, so im pretty unbiased, but i do enjoy placing orders through this vendor.
if you checked the link, you'll see that at the time of this posting they are sold out. i bought the last one, but he'll have a new shipment in soon. i asked about that when i saw he was out. i bought the trial size kit, so only one unit. if u can afford the bigger kit, i would get it, this unit is a keeper, and i will now purchase my savings difference in spare parts, lol.
the unit came un harmed, well packaged, and unboxed (but at less than 40$ shipped, i couldn't care less about another box to clutter my vape shelf). it assembled easily, and the charge that is on it is pretty stout actually. some people like to charge first, but i guess im old school, and i like to drain first THEN charge, and i vaped it all last night, and it's still working today.
crazy battery i reckon. it takes 510 atty's and such, and im going to see if the ego parts will fit it, since those can be easier to find, but there ARE vendors who carry spare parts and i'll be ordering t-rex specific parts when i can. the light ring on this thing owns. it's also the primary reason i picked it over an ego, well that and price. again less than 40$ shipped? killer deal. for the cost of your average 510/401 kit, you can have this monster.
on to the vape. the vapor production is effortless, and the draw is easy. ton's o vapor as advertised. no primer needed. the atty fires up with the quickness, and doesn't taste bad outa the box, though i will be giving it a vodka rinse tonight to see if that changes the flavor any. i want to try different resistance atty's to find the sweet spot. the atty on my disposable 510 was spot on so i may order another just to gank the atty. this unit is also dripper friendly, and seems to suck the last remnants of flavor out of your juices. it's just about the right size for me, and looks killer when vaping it. that light ring makes this unit really stand out. and when u push the metal button, it fades on, then fades off when you release, very cool effect.
battery life is good so far, but i'll update periodically. they advertise that this will vape all day, and i believe them. im not chain vaping, but my vape sessions do last a while.
My only gripes are the atty can burn the flavors easily, so you have to vape carefully or you'll cook the liquids. it really just needs an easy draw to get a ton o vapor, so no biggie. also the dummy cart that comes with it, has a shallow lip on the mating surface to the atty. this causes it to come unseated easily in the pocket. a cart with a deeper lip would do the trick, i imagine, but i haven't tried the carts that come with it yet, so i'll update on that also.
the pictures make it look fatter than it is, its bigger around than a black and mild but smaller than a standard cigar. i guess what im saying is that it's fat enough to be cool if your a guy holding it, but not so fat that it would make the ladies reconsider, lol.
i REALLY like this unit so far, and if it hold up, i would easily recommend this to someone who wants to take their vaping to the next level without taking on the cost of doing so. it's well built and looks boss, and is loved by both the guys and the gals i show it too. sleek and well weighted this unit is the business. also the threads on the cone of my unit are much cleaner than the last unit i handled, so thats a bonus.
for my first impressions of actual ownership? 9 of 10 (wish the atty burned a bit cooler) love it. check back for updates.
