Don’t throw your dead 510 or ego atty away! Use it to make a new t-tank wick. These are the only atomizers I have ever had so I don't know if others have this metal mesh.

Here is how to make a new wick even better than new with practice. We can make the actual metal cap on a new one to hold the silica strands together.

Inside the atomizer there are 2 bands of metal screen / mesh used to hold the liquid around the heating element. Take it apart to get to this "metal mesh" which is the same material for the wick “hats” as Vicki calls them in her adjustment video on youtube YouTube - eGo-t wick adjustment.

[U]Here is how to make a new wick:

Take apart the atty, remove the metal mesh around the heating element and separate it into 2 rectangles. It separates and tears into strips the size needed easily.

Separate the silica rope into strands. Use a piece about an inch long or so. It's easiest to make 2 wicks at once by wrapping the nickel alloy mesh / screen around the middle of a strand or 2 then cutting it in half with a sharp blade.

Wrap a piece of atty metal screen - it's best if you rip it into a square shape - this should give the best size from the 2 rectangles you have removed from the atomizer. Experiment, your finger size may influence what you do here.

Tighten the metal around the strand of silica rope simply by folding it over the silica.

Twisting the silicone helps.

Then roll it between your thumb and finger but not too hard or it can break.

When you are done, it should look like a metal worm with wicks sticking out of both ends. See the picture below.
Cut this in half through the center of the metal band now in the middle of the silica strand. Do not use scissors because this presses the metal together as it cuts. Use a razor or box cutter if available.

Now you have 2 wicks!
Press one into the center hole from the bottom and adjust. Don’t use a pin or needle as it punctures the metal and cuts silica off the wick. I used a small Phillips screwdriver.

Trim the excess silicone down to just past the side walls of the center of this wick holder; about an eighth inch.

Burn the wick with a lighter until it glows, about 1 second. The very white color should be diminished and stinky chemicals gone.

Install it and Vape!
I like to put the tank on this before installing into the t-tank – it’s easier for me and I should have a picture of this too.

That’s all there is to it.

I am following SimpleCJ's mod almost exactly with these exceptions:
 • Using metal mesh instead of Pyramid tea bags
 • Cutting in half instead of folding in half; giving you 2 wicks.

Lastly, if this helps you, Thank Vicki at cignot for this post being here.
And thanks to SimpleCJ for inspiring this idea.

The pictures are NOT in the correct order, send me a pm if you need help with this.
