Hey guys, I noticed a lot of people (including myself) getting a burnt/rubbery taste from their T2 clearomizers. I think I have come up with an easy fix, if nobody has thought of this already. It seems that pulling up the silicone cap on the coil head just a tiny bit, so that it lines up flush with the tip of the coil, temporarily solves the problem and gives you that great taste back and thick vapor cloud we've all been missing.

The problem is, this only works until the silcone cap slides back down into it's normal position, after just a few hits. Solution!!? :p
.. Trimming off just a TINY bit of the bottom of the silicone cap, which allows more juice to get into the wick/coil, even with the silicone cap sitting tightly in it's normal position against the top of the coil. The tough part will be trimming just enough of the silicone cap off to help more juice get to the coil/wick; but trimming off too much of the cap will allow too much juice into the coil, and it will probably leak down into your battery. It might also be difficult to trim the bottom of the silicone evenly.

I'm currently using 2.2ohm coils on my T2 clearo, and raising the cap seems to solve the burnt taste (and burnt TH feeling) problem until it slips back down, which doesn't take long. I'd like to be using 1.8ohm coils but my local shop is out of them- for some reason I never have this problem on 1.8s (at 3.8volts on my VV) and get an amazing flavor, TH, and huge thick satisfying cloud of vapor every time.

What do you guys think? I probably should have tried it myself before I posted, going to do that now and I'll check back in with the results..
I also noticed that when I just pull the silicone cap up to fix the problem, it gets pushed back down to it's regular position as soon as I screw the mouthpiece back on. The mouthpiece pushes it back down

Hope this works!! I still need grab some T3's to try.... :p

Sorry guys, I noticed theres a couple threads on this already. Instead I tried cutting a tiny slit at the bottom of the silicone caps, right where the wicks are. Seems to be working pretty good so far, I just hope it doesn't leak. Maybe I'll try one tank with slits at the bottom of the cap, and another tank with the bottom of the cap trimmed, to see the difference??

And would there be any reason why I usually NEVER have this problem at all when I'm using the 1.8ohm coils, that I like using?? I'm using 2.2's now because I'm out of 1.8's.. On my VV, I usually vape at around 3.8volts for the 1.8ohms, and around 4.2volts for my 2.2ohm wicks; always around 8-8.5watts total.

Thanks to anybody who replies :)

Hi M DuBb,
You didn't mention it, so, if your not aware, one of the most important things to be aware of with the Kanger T2, clean in at least hot water before first use .......goes double for the replacement heads. Many of us have had "burnt" until we started cleaning first. I have in the past, taken a piece of pre-boiled cotton yarn and layed it over the coil, with the legs down to the bottom, with no ill results.

Haven't tried that. I was told NOT to let any part of the coil come in contact with water, as it can mess up my battery. I asked the person who told me about this, about rinsing my clearo with the coil still screwed on and dry burning it (as I've seen in many videos and such), and they said NO. Do NOT let the coil come in contact with water.

Mine seem to work great especially after I cut tiny slits into the silicone cap, but I do run through coils pretty quick

this seems to go against what many are experiencing but for me with using T2's on standard ego batteries I have better experience with higher ohm coils SR 2.2-2.5ohm. My own experience is using 1.8ohm coils with my ego non vv batteries I burn my juice. The juice gets dark
and crappy tasting. Anyone else finding that the higher ohm coils are better for non juice cooking?? just my 2 cents and experience
