Really, a tablet you choose should depend on what you want to do with it.
I have an iPhone 4s, iPad1 & iPad 2. Each is 64 GB. Gave the iPad 1 to my husband, who reads library books on it only.
I use my iPad really, 99% of the time for work. I have huge databases about 10 of them, each is easily over 2 gig, a library of scientific articles & textbooks (using the Good Reader app), & gigs of lecture videos.
I have a keyboard & a portable printer wirelessly hooked up to it most of the time too. I use a AT&T MIFI for my wireless connection away from home.
Very little of what I have is on the cloud. For me, I need the data now as I will need it to make decisions. I also don't have time to wait if theres an internet slowdown (or the MIFI battery or its backup battery that I also carry runs out, etc). Also, altho cloud places say they have privacy, there is never any specification by those providers, whether or not they legally conform to the privacy laws in my field.
The iPad can handle that & not slow to a crawl. But, do you need all that?
Siri is fun, but often doesn't work really well. It was a gimmicky thing for me altho I occasionally use it (but it always seems to fail when I'm driving & all wanted to do is tell it a simple reminder).
Mine is not jailbroke, but for my purposes, I'm happy with its memory size. I haven't found in my field that I'm limited with apps or doing it the "Apple Way" <- has been no big deal for me & I don't even notice.
In addition, the Android devices may now have issues with privacy, as Google has very recently changed their privacy policy & is much much worse than it was (see my post on this in the past week).
But if you don't need all the bells & whistles, & don't care that Google is probably more invasive now than Apple, save your money & get a cheaper device than the iPad.
My 2 cents. HTH
