Question about vape flavor and quality... all these style atomizer seem to use the same concept for creating vapor. Small chamber with wick, tight chimney up to mouth piece. I know there is difference is build quality, and the wicking methods seems a little different...vacuum vs gravity or suction... but to the beginner (like myself) the ultimate result seems like they'd be the same? (Exactly the same)

Assuming they we all drippers, taking the tank out of the picture, you put juice in the small chamber on the wick, hit the button, makes vapor, you pull thru a small chimney....am I wrong?

Ultimately the root to this question is, IS there a flavor difference?

IMO - The "vaporizing chamber in tank" type RBAs are really just a very extreme, highly "tunable" and fancy clearomizers... in the sense they are all differential pressure atomizers.
Are they as good as an RDA for flavor? Mmmm, no. Almost, but not quite there - but then, they are far easier to build and eminently more convenient than a RDA for general use.

I think that once you can equal the airflow of an RDA with a Kayfun type atty, then RDAs will have some far more serious competition for flavor... and then only the size and slightly more rapid juice change advantage will remain.

Like an RDA, the benefit is in the users ability to experiment. I (and thousands of others) have built vertical and horizontal coils... compressed and open, threaded wick and blanket with cotton, hemp and even nickel foam... from 0.8Ω to 2.2Ω - 26 to 30 gauge. Not something easily done with clearos and glassomizers, and, like an RDA, every variation will have an effect on the perceived flavor.

Of all the differential pressure attys... I think perhaps - and again, this is IMO, that the Squape and Taifun are the best of them all. The Aqua, as nice as it is, is really a Kayfun on steroids. The Kayfuns, the atty that started it all, is still excellent, but the design is now a little old news.
Once the Chinese clone the Squape (they've already done the Taifun, but I've not seen or tried one in person yet) and the design becomes more available to the masses, we'll see Kayfun/clone sales drop.

And... I'm out. ;-)

You're welcome, but please don't go by just my comments. Lots of folks on ECF have a good deal of, unique to them, experiences will most all the PD RBAs... for example, Thrasher comes to mind as a good and knowledgeable source of information. Most google searches will bring you to here, calivapers and UKvapers threads on all the "happnin" RBAs. :)

Isn't the squape the same concept as the taifun? Sure looks like it to me? A piece of wick across the air inlet, the edges make contact with the juice in the tank. I mean that's it in super simple terms....but that's kind of what I'm seeing.

The Taifun GT and the Squape are similar; but there are a couple notable differences. The Squape air inlet is just above the threaded 510 connection. The Taifun air inlet is in the side of the base. The Taifun's draw is adjustable, by changing the vertical air tube diameter. The Squape draw is fixed, and is somewhat stiffer than the Taifun.
The other main difference is the Squapes 'ematal' coating on the base. It's a type of anodizing, which makes the area where the coil is mounted non conductive. It's virtually impossible to get shorts or hot spots, when setting up the coil.

Ah, that's cool! I read in another thread about the clones coming out of China of the SQuape, and they were saying whatever the coating is on the clone might be toxic...? Someone who got a clone for review or whatever said the base coating changed colors after only 2 days of use...and he was unable to get a definitive answer as to what "they" used to coat it with.

Toxic substance on a clone? That's not funny. I personally have no issue with clones but that's not cool...I only just read about this, so I'm not sure how accurate the information is.... I'd like to know for sure I know that.

I don't know about the coating on the clone. I've never seen one. ut I have 2 'real' Squapes, and after a couple months of use, the anodizing looks exactly the same as the day they came out of the box.
