Well the guy should be laughed at for his complete lack of research. All he did was stumble on one of those sites gouging newbies, that uses the early bs advertising that reputable companies have stopped doing. Then he proceeded to unleash anger and mistrust of the tobacco industry. Anything thought to be associated with tobacco is toxic to many people for good reason. If he would have looked into it at all he might have thought otherwise. One thing I agree with him about is the horrid advertising many ecig sites use. They are a primary reason the FDA is so ......, and rightly so. The advertising needs to be regulated for sure. The misinformed about ecigs need to be informed. I understand why he said what he did. It's easy to sit here on the ecf after using ecigs for 2 years and wonder how this guy could be so naive. The truth is if I hadn't been a part of the ecig world I would be just as skeptical of them.

Haft2doit, I do totally agree about your (and his) point about the horrid advertising some companies use to scam and gouge newbs. And I agree with everyone else that it is completely laughable and I am tired of these articles being published without any real research. Did anyone notice he wondered what tobacco companies are behind e-cigs? All it takes is a 10 second google search to see how big tobacco has been fighting tooth and nail to get PVs banned along with the FDA because of course it hurts their profits. Journalism has turned more and more into a circus slathered with opinions rather than fact. Of course, it's always been that way... but it only seems to be getting worse.

You are incorrect to say that big tobacco have been fighting tooth and nail to get PV's banned. They have done no such thing. In fact, they will most likely market their own line of e-cig products in the near future. Big tobacco can see the potential of this product and they want their share of the market.

Glad you brought that up Nicko. I had read that post and was going to reply but got distracted and forgot about it until I read your post. The tobacco companies sat silent watching the legal battle and, I'm pretty certain, planning to get a competitive advantage in the future. The best they can hope for in the foreseeable future is to maintain cigarette market share in the US and replace combustion with alternatives. Curious to see if they attempt to build a better mousetrap.

Although for me Swedish snus really handles my needs, a BT PV that could supply both nicotine and the natural tobacco alkaloids (that provide the MAOI effect) would certainly attract a certain segment of the cigarette market. If smoking bans stay smoking bans, such a product would at least provide complimentary dual use if not a satisfactory replacement product.

I've never tried snus, I know some people rave about it. I just ordered 20 boxes of Stonewall dissolvable tobacco. I hope it's good. I plan to use it when vaping just wouldn't be allowed or appropriate. Smokeless is the way of the future. Such a pity the so-called health groups can't see that.

Hope you got a variety. I've never tried them but most that have seem to prefer the Java flavor, but everyone's tastes differ. Most of us on the dark side found something lacking in E Liquid and eventually found Swedish snus. It's certainly more work to obtain, but if you love it, you love it. I still vape, but not for the nic and certainly not for the other tobacco alkaloids because they're not there. I just enjoy the flavors. I don't think that nic was every what kept me smoking in all my quit attempts.

I shall probably order the Stonewall BDL product when it becomes available and certainly will try the Stonewall moist snuff BDL if they ever get those to market.

Nicko, my mistake; I thought I had read over and over again that big tobacco has contested e-cigs (it seems to make sense). What I probably read and since misconstrued is that big tobacco is rather just feeling the heat from the sales of e-cigs and all the new warnings that they will have to implement which will most likely negatively impact sales. Actively combating and passively despising are clearly not the same thing, and I do apologize for the misinformation.
