Hi, haven't posted on here for quite awhile, had planned on starting vaping last summer but life and .... happened and I ended up becoming an even heavier smoker than I already was. Fast forward to today, I'm still smoking, can't stop. I've smoked since I was 16. I'm 34 now. I started smoking American Spirits awhile back because friends said they're more natural, but a cig is a cig is a cig. Just tired of it. I'm smoking a pack to two packs a day. I'm really wanting to take the plunge and try a straightforward vape pen and just see if I like it, a friend recommended the Kandypens Galaxy to me and it looks really cute I'm totally in love with it and itbut not sure if I could use it for e-liquid, it says it is for concentrates. I am still so clueless about a lot of the vape stuff, I know basic info and trying to learn more it's just a lot to process and seems complicated. Last summer I visited one of my local vape shops and took some hits off a basic Ego starter pen, and LOVED it. I want to take the plunge and try a straightforward vape pen like a Puffco or Kandypen but not sure if I should do that or try a lesser more basic model like an Ego to see if I like vaping first. I think a pen is more my style as a beginner, but I also like some of the other types that you can regulate.

Puffco and Kandypens, are they just for concentrates or can you use e-liquids in them? Both are really cute. With the FDA stuff, it kind of snapped me to attention vaping had fell off my radar but I really want to take the plunge before the regulations come into place.

Hey Robby! Personally I haven't ever heard of either of the two items you mentioned but I do want to say welcome!
The Ego and Evod are both good starter kits and I still use mine! My go to setups are ISticks with Nautilus minis or my Provari 2.5s. Any of the ones I mentioned are good beginners to see if vaping is for you! I don't sub ohm or do any temperature control so I can't offer advice there!
Hope you find something that works for you!
With all the FDA stuff going in right now it is important to read all you can but please take the plunge! It's worth it!
Good luck to you!

Welcome back @RobbyRocket!

I too have never heard of the two items you mentioned.

I often recommend an iStick 30 watt with an Aspire Mini Nautilus or eLeaf GS Air M (both tanks). Videos below.

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Many juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.
