So what will i do? Took 2 gums in 15mins, still craving...should I go gradually? Like lowering the ciggs per day? Vaping is another thing, idk why it didnt go well...So should I smoke and try to get low first?

I mean I'm craving and im not feeling well without smoking, trying a vape...or smoke, feels like crying

Got ya.

When I switched I vaped and smoked for about a week, gradually vaping more. After the full switch I used to vape a lot to help me get past a cig pang. It got easier for me over time.

Now that worked for me, but we're all different. I really needed to quit smoking so I had a lot of motivation. Some people take a year or longer of both smoking and vaping until they either get to only vaping because of the passage of time or they find a good enough vape for them and that gets them through it. We are all different, but patience and giving yourself time is a good thing always in my experience :)

How long have you been actively vaping, or trying to switch from smoking riddlesmyth?

For some folks vaping or nicotine replacement products barely take the edge off of cigarette cravings no matter the nic level.
Reducing the amount I smoked never came close to working because all I thought about was when I got to smoke the next one.

For some the only thing that works is good old fashion will power & the determination that you are going to quit smoking (period).
Quitting is not easy for many people, it is an ongoing daily struggle, you learn to 'deal with it' without smoking.

For me vaping is a replacement of smoking tobacco.

when I finally quit, I was vaping, using the patch, chewing gum, and chewing on A LOT of straws. Never really "overdosed" on nicotine. i tried Chantix, but had some horrible side effects, so I had to quit.

everyone is different. you just need to find your motivation and focus on that! good luck and keep us updated!

Getting off tobacco is not just a physical craving. There is a psychological side, too. Like the hand to mouth motion.

I quit overnight, BUT, I really worked myself into a mental attitude against smoking. Mentally wanting to quit is a big help.

its suffocating, I think I cant really quit with it...

On the subject of suffocating...please be aware that cigarettes have bronchodilators in them (chemicals that open bronchial passageways that help you get the smoke down, which makes cigarettes easier to inhale without choking and makes them more addictive). When you stop smoking, you might have a feeling of not being able to breathe easily or a feeling of suffocating (I experienced that for a little while, and it was uncomfortable, like I wasn't getting air in my lungs). E-cigs don't include bronchodilators, so it takes a bit of adjustment to be able to deal with the vapor without coughing.

Or you may be having panic attacks over the thought of giving up smoking and/or feeling like you can't breathe. If you can just try to relax your way through it each time, I think it will get easier pretty soon.

Maybe when this happens, you could divert your attention to something else, like taking a walk or something until it passes.

You really can do this if you want to. I'm just sayin' it's probably not the nicotine that's doing a number on you.

Good luck, my friend.

I'd say going gradual off smokes would be better than excess nicotine gum. Especially if you can realize a single cig (or less) can have a big effect which can last a while. People vary, but I never went into a "fail mode" of smoking more again (short version anyway), I just took my time.

In my estimate and experience, if you can immediately cut down to half the number of cigs per day or better (maybe further if >1 pack/day) and maintain that at first, and persevere, you can make it eventually to all vaping. This is enough to start getting a better sense of taste and reduction of addictive effects of whole tobacco alkaloids and up to 6990 other chemicals in smoke other than nicotine.
