Damn, my black chrome provari just showed up today ant now you got me wanting to take it apart to get it powder coated green. Might think about it more if this black chrome finish starts losing it's shine.
With mine the black started comming off and it looked like chrome under the black. I just blasted it down to the metal and primed, painted and baked it. I'm going to repaint it when I find a color I like better.

Can you give more detail on how you got it apart? I understand how the top comes off, but what about the button and is the electronics attached to the top? How did you remove the circuit board with the button on it.

Actually, the button that you push isn't connected to the circuit board. It just basically sits on top of the actual switch.

Once I pushed the top off the circuit board just slides out. Its held in by groves in the tube wall. The button just falls after the circuit board is removed.

I think it would be super if we could get Dave to have Caps made just like the top cap on the Provari so they had 9mm or so holes in the top cap and the same cap for the bottom but with a 510 Modders connection on the bottom cap, this way we could run whatever we wanted Atty/Carto wise and our tanks matched the Provari's caps ? whatya you guys think ?

To polish one there is no need to take it apart. Iv polished two of them with out any problems doing it as it.

yeah, it could be possible but to buff out every imperfection in the metal i need to get the button and the led cover out. I have an example below that i`v done for a friend. this is what i want for my provari.

i had no problems to polish every mm of mine to a mirror shine with out taking it apart. i used cut then polish compounds with felt wheels for a drimel on 5 for the speed. for the grooves i used the pointed tip. the button and window just took extra attention to not ruin them. it took about 2 hrs to do it all on each one. a big flap wheel would cut the time but you would want to take it apart.
