I am sure that anyone who has vaped for long has WANTED to take a sledgehammer to their vaporizer. I am sure that a judge would look at the evidence and laugh.
I don't suggest that a store should have to take back or refund money for items they sell that the buyer has tampered with or damaged. They are experts and would THEN have the option to say: " I am sorry, you have tampered with this and since you have.. I will not refund your money."
However-- putting up signs that say: " No refunds and no returns" is NOT something that takes away the customer's rights to take the store to court or to reason with the owner or manager of the store and stores who try to avoid returning money to people who get a defective product should be avoided like the plague because they will end up selling junk. I guarantee that is what happens in stores that don't back their products. My favorite store just put those signs up. I have not been there since they did-- and I can guarantee that they will either honor my request for a return or a refund or I will take them to court and I will win and then I will never again visit their store.
I might go as far as to picket the .......s! Junk stores are popping up all over acting like they KNOW something about vaping and we need to be on the look out for stores that act irresponsibly. IF you don't know this perhaps this response may help you.

I don't look all over stores that I've been in, and I've noticed this in only one store here in the Chicagoland area. It sure makes one uncomfortable buying anything from them....and I rarely go in there.

Yes there are some that need the warning. I personally ASK Questions whenever I shop any sizable purchase. I test before leaving if possible and return immediately if found defective once home.
Now, a $2 drip tip from China, not worth the grief. However I have held them to exchanges on their dime over a $10 Defect.
:)
One of our local B&M's, considered slightly expensive, offers lifetime warranty on all Non-disposable hardware. This includes Ego style batteries.
Better to Bank the cash and cover minimal defect returns. Happy customers come back and often bring friends.
