Hello guys. I started vaping 4 months ago.
i got a ego-c twist and a mini protank 2.
coils are authentic.
i happen to find some problems with my setup and sometimes i still buy analogs because my beginner setup doesn't satisfy my needs.
(crappy flavor sometimes, burnt taste, gurgling, leaking)
i want to start using rba and mods. all i want is good flavor decent th and decent vapor

can you guys recommend something for me? not too expensive ( i don't have money for a provari ).
i noticed the kayfun, russian, taifun, fogger are pretty well reviewed and some of the drippers as well.

should i get a vv/vw mod or a mech mod?
i like the mech mods because they look really nice and i got well informed about mechanical mods ( safety, calculating power, what batteries to use)

I too have the same setup (ego-c twist - Mini Protank 2 v2) but a lot of those problems can be solved. Burnt taste - turn down your voltage or clean your coils by dry burning them if it's been a while. Gurgling - turn up your voltage or tip up your e-cig for a puff or two until the gurgling goes away. Leaking - make sure your tank is tightly screwed on the atomizer base.

That being said, I also have other devices that I use -- but you don't have to give up your current hardware just because you are experiencing problems. There will always be a learning curve with new hardware.

Good luck!

I started off with mechs because they looked a lot better. An inokin MVP was recommended and I ignored it. Now I would like to recommend it to you.

Rather that immediately go to a rebuildable you might give some thought to a nautilus. The tank is huge, the airflow is adjustable, and you do not have to screw with the coils.

It may be fairly simple to build a coil that is about what you want but if you really want to get it right on it will probably take a few tries when you start and you do not know what "right on" is. With a vv/vw mod you can change the experience by pushing a button, not rebuilding the coil.

It may be just me but I worry when using my mechanicals. Not about it exploding but running the battery too far down and hurting it. With the regulated mods just vape until the light turns red.

Look on this as a personal journey. Find the place YOU like. You might find that the total ease of an MVP with an EVOD tank more than makes up for the slightly better vape of the mechanical with a dripper.

The best setup is the one that gets you away from smoking. Once you find that, the rest will fall into place (unless you catch the shiny-itis bug that many have contracted...).

The cheapest method of changing your setup would be to try some different tanks. I just read on another thread where someone had a mini PT2 but was blown away (and prefers) a MT3S tank. Others swear by cartotanks. More still by the airflow variance of the Aerotank or the Nautilus. You'll find that if you ask for the best setup, you will receive many different responses. Some may work for you, others may not.

That said, my personal suggestion would be to look at a few more tanks and, possibly, a step up in your battery. I've already covered some of the tank options, so with regards to batteries, I would suggest looking at an iTaste VV/VW V3 or an iTaste MVP2. They are two of the more popular options available right now and are pretty affordable (101Vape has them for $26 and $40, respectively). There's no need to steepen the learning curve with a mech or a rebuildable until you have figured out a basic setup that keeps you from smoking.

I would definitely recommend a VV/VW mod before moving to mechs, and here's why. With a mech and an RBA, you have to know what you want your vape to be like when you build it. You build your coil at the correct resistance to get your target wattage. But you have to know what kind of wattage you want it to be before you start, and if you don't end up liking it, you're stuck with that until you build a new coil. If you're going to sit around building coils all day and experimenting, that's fine, but if you have to go work an 8 hour shift or go to school or leave your building area for a while, you're using whatever you built last.

If you go with something variable first, you don't need a target. Throw any 1.5-2.5 ohm atty (or build a coil in that range) in there and you can get any kind of vape you want (within the mod's limits, of course). If you want something hotter for a few minutes, turn it up, and then turn it down when you feel like a cooler vape. After a couple months of experimenting and playing with it, you'll have a much better understanding of your taste and your personal preferences. That gives you the knowledge you need to really get the most out of a mech. So when you get the mech (if you still want one), you'll know if you prefer a 15 watt vape or a 7 watt one, and you'll build coils that give you what you like right off the bat, instead of wrapping wire over and over again until you figure it out. You may also find (like I did) that you really like an 8 watt vape, so there's really no reason to get a mech. Does that make sense?

If you think you may be interested in sub-ohms when you get your mech, I'd start with a variable mod that has high power capabilities - something like a DNA device (can go up to 30 watts) or the new Evic Supreme (also 30, I think?). If you want to stay more within the "normal" range, try an MVP.

I normally tell people to skip the ego styles and go right to a VV/VW setup, but I don't think it makes as much sense to skip the VV and go mech right off the bat. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it - you should do what you think will be the right thing for you. But I think you can learn a lot from a VV that will help you if you then decide to go on to a mech.

I also suggest MVP 2. It will do variable voltage, variable wattage, check the resistance of your coils and charge your phone. It's the best bang for your buck out there. 2600 mAh battery lasts a good while as well.

For a topper, you can get an Igo W or something in that series as a cheap dripper to learn building coils on. Invest in some kanthal, cotton, and you are set to go. Always check the ohms of any coil you build before firing your device.

Another rebuildable option that will deliver the taste of a dripper is a genesis style tank. Look up video's in youtube on how to set up a genesis style tank in auto drip mode. It's how I set up my Kracken clone, and it tastes great. Drawback is that it'll leak if on it's side.

Last, you can try a Kayfun style tank. This is a rebuildable tank with bottom coils. It's a pretty simple build, produces great flavor and doesn't leak when set up correctly. No gurgling either.

i think i will go with an mvp because i don't have to buy replacement batteries, it's passthrough, 2600 mah are more than enough.

i also believe a nautilus will do. i have a local vape shop where i can test different tanks, drippers, rba-s. i took a few hits off the nautilus and the flavour th and vapor were great.
and i can buy a cheap dripper too.
the evic supreme seems nice too but i think it will be pretty expensive.
so when i get my paycheck i will order and mvp. any sites with nice products and fast shipping?

I have enjoyed vaping from the very beginning but it wasn't until I started dripping that really loved the flavors. Made all the difference in the world to me. Right now I am using a reo and I honestly think if vaping never gets any better for me.......I'm good for the rest of my life. Good luck to you and happy vaping no matter what you are using. I will say that I keep a higher nic juice around at all times just in case. A higher nic might keep you from thinking about cigarettes too. Just my 3¢ (inflation).

You don't need a Provari to get a good vape from a regulated device. If you don't want to go the mech mod route and rather stick with a vv/vw device and still have some money left in your wallet, I would suggest getting the itaste SVD, Vamo v5 or the M.V.P. All 3 are great devices that would be a huge upgrade from any ego setup. If you're vaping mainly for the nicotine and to stay off real ciggs, you don't need a mech mod. I can't even imagine trying to sub ohm vape 12mg to 24mg of nicotine. Yuck!

I am currently vaping on the itaste svd and a kayfun clone, no complaints.

i like the way it looks it feels heavy and i don't mind using a tank with the adaptor as long as the mod does it's job.
but i have to buy batteries and a charger. i will wait a couple of weeks and check the online vape shops frequently.
i met a friend today and he had a brand new ithaka clone (magoo) but he said it it a pain in the ... to rebuild.

hello fellow vapers. i got my MVP 2.0 for 42$ at my local vape shop. i wanted to get the nautilus but they were out of stock.
they had the aerotank mega. the vendor said he didn't had time to test one to compare to the nautilus and said i should go for and rba since the mvp can read ohms.
would you guys recommend me a nice rda or rba to go with the mvp?
i now use my kanger protank 2 mini with the mvp and i really like it but i always wanted a good dripping atomizer for 100% vg juices
