Taking the plunge!

First off I would like to thank all of the members of this forum for all of your insight. I have trolled and researched for the past month and you guys are fabulous. I have smoked for 15 years and my 30th birthday will be in 2 days. I will not smoke in my 30's and I'm confident that this is it. I have tried patches, cold turkey and that demon pill chantix (don't even get me started, it's unconfirmed but I think a year later I'm still suffering from the side effects)
I decided to go with the Riva and I went overkill and got 10 bottles of juice mainly fruit and tobacco flavors. The one thing that was holding me back is wondering what people would think seeing this black thing hanging out of my mouth. (I know the cancer stick was so much more appealiong ).
I have high hopes for this little ewonder and I am curious where I can get some great sample packs to ensure that I don't fall off the wagon because I can't find a flavor that suits me. Also how long should the catonizer last? I mean if I refill everyday several times a day how will I know when it's done? I'm anxiously awaiting my package and can't wait to report my success. Thanks again for all of the help, you guys have no idea the amount of people you are helping many of us are silent but we really appreciate your words of wisdom and guidance.

It is a learning experiance and you will do fine & get used to filling,holding,inhaling...all that stuff with your Riva. If anything becomes a question for you, all you have to do is post on here & someone will help you.Start off slow & determined and you will do fine Lady.

I'll let someone else answer the cartomizer question. I think they start tasting funky pretty quickly and then toss them. I'm sure people get much more life out of them than I do.

I'd be more concerned with the nicotine level than the flavor. You can manage a bad flavor until you find the right one, but if you get 12mg and need 24mg you won't be able to fight the urge for a smoke.

I'm pretty sure freedomsmokeUSA is doing a 5x 10ml "sweet" flavor deal for $20 shipped right now.

On average I smoke about a pack a day (can't believe I just admited that out loud). So I am going to get 3 to 6 sample packs at the 12, 18 and 24 level. I'm hoping the 12 will be enough but I think I may fall right in the 18 range and in case I underestimated I also will order the 24 strength. Cheers!

Welcome to the ECF and as far as knowing when to refill a carto when it starts to taste different or less vapor than normal or a combo of both you will know when that happens.

Yeah I'd get one really strong juice just in case. Who cares if its nasty tasting, it will get you through an intense craving if you get one.

I made a mistake when first ordering juices. I got them all at the same mg level. I quickly realized that the 24 mg I had gotten was keeping me awake at night. It's a good idea to have a variety of levels so you can go higher when you need it, but also go lower in the evenings.

Ok so my order has shipped from vapor junction (SO EXCITED), turns out it comes with 10 EMPTY atomizer cartidges (I thought I was going to get a sample for some reason), I must have mixed up different suppliers. I got the Riva (black) and it says my unit comes with: 2 Batteries, 2 Atomizers, 1 Atomizer Cone, USB Wall Charger, 10 Empty Atomizer Cartridges and English Instruction Manual.

I'm missing something what is the difference between cartomizer and atomizers. I'm thinking I need to place another order what am I missing from this starter kit? I have ordered my e-juice in various strengths but it's not clicking for me on atomizers vs. catomizers. I also paid 50.00 out the door, was this a good price? Thanks in advance.

I have probably reached my limit for the day but I promise this is the last question. Is there an e-cig that looks like a cigarette. I'm fine with having the Riva at home but I think it's going to cause a lot of unnecessary conversations in the workplace. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm missing something what is the difference between cartomizer and atomizers?

Cartomizers combine the cartridge and atomizer together.
Atomizers have removable cartridges.

The design is also very different between the two and how they work.
And people definitely have opinions about which is better.

Lady, welcome. About something looking more like a real cig....I don't think you're going to mind the Riva not looking like a cig once you really get going....but, here's a semi-solution. Most of the kits that really look like a real cig are crap. But....the Riva you have uses a 510 atomizer or 510 cartomizer. So....you could get you a little 510 battery (get white ones, if you prefer) to put with your 510 attomizer/cartomizer. It will be a little longer than a reg. cig, but it's about as skinny as a reg cig...and since it'll be white. Might work. At least you can interchange the equip. that way and just use the Riva battery at home. Others may have a better solution.
