Not at all. Just set them out like other electronics. I have actually gotten comments from the security team. Some asking what they are, others saying "good for you!"
I've done this both ways.
- First be aware that you cannot put lithium batteries in your checked bags.
- I've taken my batteries out of my mods and gone through security with no issues.
- I recently left my mods assembled, and even brought them to the attention of security before going through x-ray, (a provari, lavatube, etc.) I was put through the pat down, extra security checks, checked for explosive residue.
I actually did the last one on purpose. I wanted them to see advancd ecig mods that aren't your run of the mill over the counter gas station models. It probably took an extra 10 minutes.
Obviously, any liquid you're carrying on has to be in your clear quart size baggy.

Couple of months ago I went through several European airports with two minis in my pockets. They would go in the trays on the checkpoints of course, and raised no questions at all. Not even in Munich where security level seems to be always on paranoid.
