I've vaped on a plane with an 808 (volt, bloog, v3) on 4 separate occasions and never had any issues. I did 'stealth vape' so no one noticed the vapor (blew it into my sleeve or blanket)
Last time I flew was last March so unless things have changed that much I doubt it's an issue.
Airlines were: WestJet, AirCanada, AirTransat and one other I can't remember the name.

Hope this helps.

Tried that stealth vaping once.... unfortunately it was 100% VG while sitting in Tim Hortons. Thought i could just blow it in the cup, thinking the steam from the coffee would mask it.......sadly that day i was drinking a iced cap for one, and for two i was distracted and reaching blindly.......do you know how hard it is to explain how the napkin dispenser is well "smoking"?...

even with that aside i am so not looking forward to flying as i am a flying virgin (leave the comment alone)...so i have no idea what to expect....though i do have the sense to not watch anything from the air plane trilogy, or snakes on planes, or final destination, passenger 57 or any flight related movies for about a good month before getting on the sucker

The airlines have their own sites, but the TSA site I linked can answer many questions you may have and since they are the "final answer" on what is/isn't allowed, I would try the link I gave you before anecdotal answers by fellow travelers. I have seen a LOT of misinformation in this thread and would hate for you to follow the misinformation.

For instance, batteries ARE NOT allowed in packed luggage, though many here say they break that rule. It is dangerous to do so, batteries explode and should a fire occur you need those things in the cabin where it can be handled.

Before I flew the first time with e-cigs, I went to the official sites. I found out that while well meaning, many people giving information here just don't really know the rules. I would hate for you to lose your gear if they decide that your bag is the one they are going to hand search. The liquid can go in the suitcase, but bear in mind the pressures and leave room in the bottles for expansion as well as putting them in a baggie. If you carry it on, there are limitations on bottle size. Again, you can find this information at the TSA site.

It was Soul_T who had the question about airplanes and going through airports to the plane :D

I was curious about vaping in the actual airports as hunny bunny (my wife) already told me i am not allowed to leave and go 'exploring' during the lay over's........i swear it is like she knows me or something

Every airport I have been in let me vape wherever I was. Remember, this is NOT smoking. Be respectful, keep your vapor to yourself and don't blow huge clouds that will cause others to think of fire. If people complain, then you may be asked to stop. I just act as natural as can be, as if I am doing nothing wrong - because I am not - and I have had zero problems.

I flew last week: put my chargers and liquids in my checked luggage, had 2 eGo 650 mah with full carts in my purse. I put the eGos in the grey bin, no problem, nobody said anything.

I wouldn't feel comfortable vaping on the plane, but if you're worried about nic-fitting, get a pack of Nicorette lozenges. You just stick them up in your cheek and they deliver a nice steady nic fix for when you can't vape.

Same experience.

I keep my lavatube and tank on my person, and my spare gear/juice in my carry-on backpack. I always get asked what it is when I put it in the bin for x-ray, and have never been hassled beyond them saying, "That's a big one!" when I explain it's an e-cig. The correct answer to that is, "Thanks, I get that a lot.".

I have stealth-vaped on every flight I've been on in the last few years (all domestic) and have never had a problem. The last flight I was on, some yahoo a few rows ahead of me was flagrantly vaping his disposable, blowing clouds throughout the cabin. The flight attendant told him they were not allowed in-flight. I continued to stealth my monster sized tube without a problem.

Be discreet and you'll be fine.

Be assured, you can carry your devices and juice in your carry-on. Just bag them and be sure you are under the 3oz limit. I sent my wife to Michigan a few weeks ago and that is all I had her do. No issues here or there. Only 1 of her juice bottles was marked, the rest were DIY bottles. No questions, no strange looks.

I do not suggest you vape anywhere in a plane or an airport "openly". If you feel you must vape, and someone see's the vapor, you Will be questioned and that can hold you up with Security or at least make you uncomfortable.

I have sat at the airport bar and openly vaped, though as I said I did not blow huge clouds. I did not act suspiciously by trying to hide what I was doing. No one said a thing. I have also vaped waiting for the plane, in airport restaurants, walking through the airport etc. No problem what-so-ever, Ever, and it is certain that security, bartenders and wait staff did see me. The thing was ON the bar, or the table where I ate, in plain site. I would rather appear as if I am doing nothing wrong then make furtive movements to hide it. If it is not allowed, I am sure they will tell me and I will apologize and put it away and comment on the lack of signage nicely. Again, I do not blow huge clouds and am respectful of other peoples space. The airports were in the USA though so I cannot speak on other countries.

And today I will vape in the hospital, again.

A couple of years ago I watched "United 93" the day before a flight to Moscow. Bad idea. Had to double up on my flyin' Ativan.

Man, you guys are nuts!! Flying is a RUSH.. when those engines kick into full blast for take off, there's nothing quite like it OR watching the ground rushing up when you are coming in for a landing, the impact, bounce..and FULL thrust reversal for braking!! AWESOME!!

I still get excited about it, and I'm on my 4th passport, and have been flying since I was 5 years old. I'm 40 now too, and I can tell you this much, there's no one flight quite like another. They are all unique experiences within themselves. Just kick back, relax, and enjoy the flight! :)

/me  flying!! :D

Here's my experience from recent flights with Air Canada:

- Bringing an e-cig on the plane in your carry on (with liquid) is okay, and the security agents didn't seem to care at all when discovered.
- Air Canada mentions e-cigs in their official documentation: aircanada.com - Carry-On Baggage
- Vaping on the plane itself is NOT allowed. I wouldn't try this!
- Vaping in the bathroom (I did it 5 seperate times!) seems to be fine but YMMV.

Hi all, I've been flying quite frequently for the last 5 years and here are my comments on e-cig and air travel:

Security: no problems ever in Canada. going in or out, with e-cigs in carry on luggage. (although I usually try to minimize the qty and size of the stuff)

Planes: allowed in your carry on, checked luggage (make sure you make batteries safe in both, ie disconnect them and cover the poles) For e-liquids... I put them in leak proof bags (ziplocks) same as I would for shampoo.. if it leaks, it just makes a big mess hehehe

Custom going in other countries: you should check on that with the country you are going to... some countries considers those illegal... but then again it is usually not enforced heavily.

Vaping on the plane? Not that I ever have done this myself, um um um, but a friend of a friend of a friend says he goes to the washroom and vape with not problems with the smoke detectors... specially handy in long haul flights.

At the airports: if you have access to lounges, the washrooms are closet type, then no pros. If your going to the public washroom with open stall types... I would not recommend...

PS: after my friend of a friend ect... goes to the plane washroom and comes back all relaxed, make sure he does not forget his e-cig in the seat pocket in front of you before de-planing.... I lost one that way... euu I mean my friend's friends... ect.

Cheers all, and have a great day.

If you want to have in carry on, put it in a travel cosmetics bottle. I just travelled to FL from Canada and I did a little trial. I had to take a big bottle of Wen so I figured I'd take a bunch of other larger bottles of shampoo etc. I put them all in those vacuum seal bags and put them into mt checked, just to see if they X-ray for stuff. Also had my eGo and juice but not even hidden, just in an outside pocket. I'm planning on taking some 48rts back the same way....and a couple cases NJOY ;)
P.s...I stealth vaped on the plane - or just go to the bathroom.:sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor:

I been flying with my screwdriver for several years now, both domestic and international. Never been even questioned regarding it. Usually spare battery, 10 ml of juice and pv goes with me, the rest is luggage. Crapped my pants once when coughed in lavatory while in the middle of stealth drag, fortunatelly it didn't trigger the sensor, after that I just stealth wape right in my seat.
