Well, I've just done Toronto to Heathrow with BA and had no problems, probably had 6 batteries in my handbag with no problem. Also, used it on the plane quietly making sure I let out as little vapour as possible and had no problems. Came back yesterday from Glasgow to Heathrow and Heathrow to Toronto. But the Glasgow to Heathrow route had a problem. Got thru security the first time no problems, but due to defect in plane had to go through security second time. This time they went thru my handbag very politely. I mentioned that it was probably due to my electronic cigarettes....he said "Aye, no problem" took out one of the batteries to look at it and then sent me on my way.

Have vaped on domestic flights and in airports without incident. YMMV.

Notes:
- I try to be inconspicuous without hiding it
- Vapour does have a scent and some people are sensitive to it

I have a client that is sensitive to PG and even though I vape 70vg/30pg she had a sneezing fit in my office because of it, and I didn't vape in my office while she was there. She didn't even know I was using ecigs. She has the same reaction to Scentsy and Febreeze/Glade.

I try to be respectful while still enjoying my new freedom.

I've travelled throughout Canada and the US with no real issues. About 50% of the time, they'll want to take it out of my carry-on (Vamo), but once I explain what it is, I usually get a "ok. Have a nice day", or (more regularly) "I've heard of those / my buddy uses one. I thought they were smaller." :p Liquid goes into the baggy (with a paper towel to soak up any leaks).

I also advise splitting gear - keep some in your carry-on, some in checked luggage. You never know when one or the other will be unavailable.

A few months ago I flew Calgary -> Vancouver -> Honk Kong and back. Nobody said anything, I didn't even have to take it out. I had all my batteries and juice disassembled, but together in an Ego case. (Juice and tanks/clearos were in plastic baggies though). I think I had an extra 30mL of juice in checked baggage with my toothpaste.

This weekend I'm flying to Van and back and I don't anticipate any problems (no checked baggage). For what it's worth, Air Canada has specific info about ecigs here.

I just picked my wife up at YVR and I was chain puffing that vape in the chinese wok restraunt seating then down in the arrivals. Puffing like a mad man...as I filled my mod with 100%VG when I left instead of my flavorless nic juice. I had to blow hard towards the ground as the mist clouds were heavy, thats when I clued in to...I HAVE NO NIC and Im nicin!! It was like, welcome home honey...LETS GO!
I had no issues with anyone tho

I've taken my Ego T and filled 6ml tank (less than 100ml, right?) on Air Canada flights from the east coast to Toronto via Montreal a few times last year and didn't encounter any problems, including while vaping in my seat on the plane, in the terminals, at the restaurants, anywhere. I was questioned once at security but it was more out of interest and curiosity than anything else.
I look for a quiet place to settle down to discreetly vape without calling attention to myself but I don't hide what I'm doing. I blow my 'smoke' downwards while on the plane lest it rattles some frail nerves. I'd panic too if I saw smoke in the aircraft. The sensors in the lavatories are only for smoke, not vapour so if you'd rather that avenue, feel safe to do so. The klaxons won't go off nor will the plane go down in flames, lol.
I am SO happy I found out about e-cigs, my life has changed in more ways than one.

I think the safest thing to do is to simply ask attendants/company clerks if there's no explicit rule. Air Canada does ask you not to take it off your luggage, so it's pretty safe to assume that your not allowed to vape on the plane. I did take a couple of hits in the bathroom on my Toulouse-Montreal flight, of course it won't trigger the smoke detector directly, but be careful, some detectors are optical, meaning that strong vaping may just trigger them.
As for juice, I had some in my Vivi tank, a 10 mL bottle in my back pack, and almost 1/2 L in my checked luggage (had to bring my supply, I was not travelling but rather immigrating :) ). I went through customs without any issues, my luggage was not inspected. The custom officer did ask me to confirm I had no cigarettes as stated on my customs form, I made sure to answer "no sir, I do not have any cigarettes/.
Now I'm a bit concerned about restocking, that's a different topic, but how could customs seize nic. juice when it's not illegal, right??

Just to add my thoughts on this.

The ecig and juice, your main concern is security. Customs has nothing to do with you at this point. I've taken my Buzz Pro with no hassles. I've had a few of them ask me about it. But that's as far as it's gone with them.

When it comes to customs, well, I wasn bringing something back that wasn't with me when I left, so I felt I didn't need to tell them about it. No searches or confiscation so far.
