I think I have my answer through trial and error, but please correct me if I'm wrong and save me some $$ :)

I have two tanks, one is the plastic one that came with the Vision Spinner, I think it's called a Stardust or something like that. The other one is the Kanger Mini Protank III. I am convinced that I am getting better flavor out of the pyrex Kanger. Is it the dual coil, the ohms, the plastic/pyrex thing, or just my imagination? Thanks!!!

By the way, this forum is the BEST resource on the web :D

I prefer the kanger tanks with the old style 1.5 ohm dual coils and airflow design. I have a mini and regular aerotank. They are waaaay better than a cheap plastic tank. And you can replace the coils. I don't think you can in the plastic types. You can take them completely apart too and wash them out. A definite plus. I clean mine every day. I have read{not sure if it's true} that the plastic tanks can also leech into the juice. Particularly certain types, like citrus stuff.

Every trusted reviewer says that Aerotank Mini and Mega are simply the best clearos at the moment. And I think I trust them since my EVOD Glass is simply amazing! I'm waiting for the delivery of upgraded coils for it (the same as in new Aerotanks) and will post if they improve EVOD Glass too. And for the moment I'll vape my EVOD rewicked with cotton - old coils with cotton make EVOD shine like never before! I would also note that with cotton I want to lower my PG and nicotine in juice because it now gives me too much of a throat hit. Never expected such an intense performance from a clearo!

You're getting better flavor out of the Mini Protank primarily because of the coils. On the tank that came with the Spinner, the wicks touch the bottom, but then go up towards the mouthpiece and vaporizes the liquid there. With the protank, the coil and wicks are in the bottom, so the liquid goes directly to the wick and coils via gravity and not capillary motion, thus retaining as much of the liquid and flavor as possible and delivering it all into the coil, whereas on the plastic one, the wick essentially filters out some of the flavor and good parts of the liquid because it has to travel so far. So no, it isn't just your imagination, you really are getting better flavor out of the better atomizer :p

The difference is two years difference in technology. The Stardust was around when I first began vaping over two years ago. It was one of the original clearomizer designs, and I'm surprised that its still around.

The Kanger Protank 3 is a latest generation device which has only been on the market for a few months if that. The way technology changes in this market there will be a Kanger Protank 4 in a couple of months.

+1 for Kanger tanks ... If you haven't tried the Mega I suggest you give it a shot. I really do love mine and even though I got a Kayfun last week i am still thinking about buying either the giant or another mega.

Oh and even if you dont build your own coils, .8 coils by kanger are out now as well which makes these tanks reach into the forbidden sub-ohm layer that so many non-RBAs could not reach before :vapor:

This may seem like a stupid question, but I've recently switched to a Kayfun but really miss the simplicity of my tank (like a ECA for my Evic or a Kanger Aeroflow). Is there anything that is as good as the Kayfun or dripping but in a tank format that doesn't deal with RBA's?

What Kayfun? I have a mini 2.1 clone, my friends a real "Lite". Neither one of has touched our Kangers (crap in our opinions) since the day we got them (months ago).

Not sure what you're doing wrong... Kayfun = simplicity to me.
