I like the discreet side by side form factor but unwilling to spend $160 plus on a XVO to experiment. FT has the Kato 18500 clone for 17 bucks (which is an acceptable loss if I don't like it). Ive read how to instal a kick under the 510 pin and feel I could do it.
Main thing is, I will only be using this with tanks like the nautilus (w/steel cage), Toptank Mini and Silo Lite (18mm). I believe all three will fit the tank enclosure without issues.
My main question, though, is about tank and puffing ergonomics…if you look at the 18650 version on the left, the tank chamber is quite elongated…which means a normal drip tip will be sit almost at the same level or just slightly higher than the fire button…so it might look a bit awkward when you draw.
However, the tank chamber on the 18500 seems visibly shorter, so I take that to mean that the drip tip on the tank will stick out a bit higher than the level of the fire button and possibly offer a more natural draw action.
Am I assuming right? Can any owners of a Kato 18500 corroborate?
Cheers.
