So now that I'm back in the vaping game after being out for a few years, I'd like to know what kind of tanks everyone is using/recommending.

I got a kit last week with a couple of Evod VV batteries and some Mini ProTank 2s. Both tanks came with 2 1.8ohm atomizers each, so I had 4 to work with. Figured that would last me awhile, at least 3-4 weeks (I have two tanks set up with different flavors). Well, within a week, 3 of my atomizers are done for. One of them that I had set up when I got it burnt out after 6 days. I replaced it, and it worked for about 5 minutes before giving me a burnt taste and then immediately dying. A day later, the other atomizer I was using died, which I replaced with the last one I have left. This one seems to be working OK, but obviously I need to get some more.

I have no idea why these atomizers are burning out on me so fast. They are 1.8 ohm, and I'm vaping them anywhere from 3.6 to 3.8 volts. When I change them out, I swing down to 3.2 volts for a little bit before slowly ramping them up to my desired setting. It could have been that the one atomizer was DoA in the package, but I'm not vaping excessively so I feel that the others should have lasted a little longer.

Other than that, I do like the Mini PT 2s, aside from one incident where I think I got too low and it flooded the tank with some nasty gurgling. I've had no leaking issues or anything like that, but I've also been reading that these atomizers aren't the best and people have been having issues with them. Add to that that the juices I got are 100% base VG, and some people are saying these particular atomizers don't soak that up too well. So, while I'm going to get some extra atomizers for them tonight, I'd also like to try a different brand tank/clearo. Which is why I'm looking for some opinions!

What's everyone using that they like on a VV ego-style battery? The stuff I'm vaping is very fruity and strong stuff from Fuzion Vapor, and they do say that their juices have been known to crack plastic tanks, which is why I'm looking for glass. Any recommendations would be very helpful. Thank you!

Are these Kanger tanks or knock offs? If it's a Kanger, it will be etched on the bottom part. If there is nothing etched, it's a knock off. Also, I believe that the Kanger coils have the ohms etched on them. Nothing there=knock off. Here's a good place to get the genuine coils at a very good price. http://www.discountvapers.com/kanger-replacement-coil-heads/

I got my kit with the Mini PT2s from here Kanger Twist Silverback Kit

They are genuine as far as I can tell. The KangerTech logo is etched into the bottom of the tank and all of the atomizers have the ohm ratings etched into them as well. Furthermore, the security code on the bottom of the tank boxes checks out on the KangerTech website.

So I've been looking at the Aspire Nautilus and while I'm liking what I'm seeing about it, it does seem a bit too big for me. These Evod VV batteries are pretty thin (and match up to the thickness of the Mini Protank 2 nicely), so I'm not sure I want to move up to something super big like that, plus it's a bit on expensive side.

As far as the Smokteck ARO, does anyone have any links to it from a reputable seller? I'm seeing that in the past week, they've discontinued one model and released an updated model, so I'm not sure which is better or which I should be looking for.

Any other thoughts/opinions?

I like my mini protank 2s. Haven't had one burn out yet, though I did mess something up dry burning one and tossed that. I am running 2.5 ohm coils since that's what my starter pack came with. I hear some coil batches can have a lot of duds, though. Mostly I like how easy it is to take them apart for cleaning, how cheap new heads are, and how easy it is to rebuild when I get to that point (baby steps! I am comfortable rewicking with cotton, rebuilding is next!).

My boyfriend has an Aspire BDC (like this one) and it's pretty alright. Dual coils make it a little warmer, more flavorful. Heads can't be rebuilt, and they're a little more pricey than Kanger heads, but it's quality.

I really want an Aspire Nautilus but I can't justify the expense :S.

Don't toss them in case you decide to rebuild! :)

Get a Protank2 and then the Aerotank base for air control and rebuild your coils with cotton, Mine will last around 2 weeks give or take depending on how heavily i vape. All you have to do is slide the cotton out and slide in a new one with a flavor wick ontop and your gold. Also thought i was reading somewhere that nautilus heads can't be rebuilt? Someone Correct me if Im wrong, I know that they are expensive attys too.

A couple thoughts for you related to Kanger heads and tanks.

With 100% VG or high VG content juices you might want to try removing one of the flavor wicks, or notching the silicon grommet that covers the wicks to allow better flow. I don't normally vape anything over 30% VG but have one Juice from FuZion at 65% VG (bought it without checking it out) and to vape it I have to close down the airflow to up the vacuum.

I think the better option is to use the new Kanger Aerotank base. The airflow control of the new base allows you to control the vacuum in the tank. If you are getting dry/burnt hits then close the airflow down a bit to create more vacuum which will pull more juice across the wicks. If your are experiencing leaking or gurgling then open it up a bit to reduce the vacuum.

I have one juice from FuZion, Nice Melons, that I find I have to up the vacuum in my Kanger tanks to vape with out getting burnt hits.

Edit:
When starting with a new head try this, after screwing the head into the base gently wiggle the stove pipe off the head, drop 2 or 3 primer drops on the wicks. Replace the stove pipe gently so as not to disturb the wick placement.

Also throughout the day take a few primer puffs every now and then. Primer puffs are are long easy draws without firing the coil. This will help to keep the wicks wet.

Thank you all for your advice and suggestions, you've all been very helpful. I love this community, seriously.

As far as rebuildable heads go, I'll probably look into it in the future. For right now, I kind of just want something to piece together and go without worrying about rebuilding or re-modifying components. If I can find something that vapes high VG fairly well and lasts me 8-10 days per atomizer, I'd be very happy. When I can invest more time into rebuilding and such, I'll look into it then.

I think what I'm going to do is this. Since the Kanger heads for the Mini PT2 are so cheap (A dollar and change per piece, it seems), I'm going to stock up on both 1.8 and 2.5 ohm coils. I really do like the physical tank itself, so I'll experiment with the advice that sdennislee left on the last post, helping the wicks to soak up more of the juice before I fire it. See what I can do. I'm not ready to just give up on the Mini PT2 altogether.

I'm also going to order a second tank with some extra coils to see if I like it any better. I've heard good things about adjustable airflow tanks, so I'll look into those, but I'm going back and forth between trying out the Aspire Mini Vivi Nova (Pyrex), Aro II, or something with adjustable airflow (like the Aerotank). A warmer and more flavorful vape sounds like something I'd be into, so maybe I'll try a bottom dual coil tank of some sorts, and look into the adjustable airflow stuff at a later date. Everyone is raving about the Nautilus for that reason, but this week I can't drop that much money on a single tank. Plus it's just...huge, considering the battery I'm vaping on. Not sure I can cart that around in my pocket.

Thanks again everyone! Off to do some more research.

EDIT: Think I'll also look into other company's E-Juice with higher PG blends. As far as I know, I don't have a PG allergy or anything, it just seemed to me at first that the more interesting flavors I'm finding are all high VG blends.
