I don't think anyone who has been vaping for long can avoid hearing about this and I certainly did but until yesterday I thought it was just an over-exaggeration and a way for companies to cover their butts in case there was a remote chance it happened buuuut...

tankcrack.jpg

The only thing I've done different is try the 4 bottles I recently got which were Blue Moo, Cola, Cinnamon Roll and Toasted Marshmallow.

I've vaped cola before (it's one of my favorites) but not from this company so I'm figuring it was either that or the Cinnamon Roll which surprises me because it didn't last like cinnamon at all. (letting it steep)

Can't waaaait to move on to some glass tanks so this isn't an issue but till then the tank seems to still be usable, no leaks yet but I'm just using it at home and handling it like a live grenade.

Has anyone else actually had a tank crack from eliquid?

I haven't but all of my tanks are glass. Aspire ETS bdc, PT II, Mini PT II and my carto tanks as well. The only poly tank I have is the iclear 30 and that's my "Blueberry" tank.

My first experience was filling a new clearomizer with some new strawberry lemonade e-liquid and having it literally melt in my hands before I could put it on my battery.

Since that time, I've used only pyrex cartotanks, mostly from IBTanked.

I would not use the tank you are speaking of. Once the chemical bond of the plastic has been compromised by the cinnamon & cola (it has cinnamon in its recipe), it can leach harmful chemicals into your e-liquid. Throw the tank away and consider it a lesson learned.

Thanks for this reminder....I have a strawberry lemonade on the way. I had only used glass tanks up until receiving my KFL clone so I wouldn't have to worry about bad interactions. Now, I'll have to be cognizant of what I'm using before I fill up. I hate that because I really like my KFL's performance the best out of all my toppers, plus seeing my juice.

Most (good) vendors have an asterisk on the description page warning of the possibility of that particular juice being known to crack plastic tanks. I have some of those juices and I mark the label immediately with a red star when I get them....I do like the performance of some of my plastic tanks, but wish they had pyrex versions of them!!

Tank Cracking Juices

yep just to be on the safe side always try to stick to glass or metal tanks :)

same as bad, I once filled a tank with a juice (don't remember at this time but knowing me it was either my diy clove or a cinnamon blend) and the tank literally as soon as filled cracked and melted in my hand (took less than a minute)

if you don't mind buying from china and can wait a few weeks up to a month...fasttech has good quality and cheap prices on glassomizers
examples:
KWX10 Protank E-Cigarette Atomizer (2.8mL) protank clone $9.56 (comes with a beauty ring)
DBOX PuriTank Bottom Coil Glassomizer (3.5mL) a bigger protank clone $12.79
RG500 Bottom Coil Glassomizer (5.0mL) a hypertank clone $10.42

or if you like top coil's 3.5mL Silver metal Vivi Nova $6.94

or if you like cartotanks Splash Anodized Glass Carto Tank Kit (6.0mL) $10.42 (the drip tip supplied is also ft's version of the "slap-yo-mama" fill tool)

We just switched about 2 months ago from using cigalikes with cartos to Evod kits. My daughter ordered some Wild Cherry eliquid, and did not notice that MBV listed it as a tank cracker. She found out the hard way. Now she knows exactly why I was so adamant about getting glass clearos in addition to the clearos that came with our starter sets. Sometimes, Mom really does know best. By the way, she is 36, I am 64.

It took me an entire day to realize I had cracked one of my old, reliable MT3s with a great Papaya/Lychee from a local B&M. I'm in the process of putting together replacements for my entire color line (only way I can keep track of what's in them). I'll probably use the plastic ones until they all die, though (using one right now, in fact!).

I guess I've been pretty lucky. Using EVODs for all different kinds of flavors, but most of the time, juice doesn't stay in a tank long enough :D However, I plopped MBV Sweet Cherry Bomb in a brand new EVOD (of course it was my pretty red one, not the gnarly green) and within an hour, the mouthpiece was shattered on the inside. Bought a Mini PT2 that evening, but still using all my other EVODs without problems {knocking on wood}

MBV has a published list of its tank-crackers. Anyone recall a more generic listing (maybe more basic flavors than specific named ones?)

I've had HHV strawberry Lemonade in a Halo Triton tank for a couple of weeks now with no problems. Maybe it's a different brand or the Triton tanks are different plastic.

It's HHV's strawberry lemonade I'm waiting on but I think I'd rather err on the side of caution. I'll probably either vape it in my dripper or use the metal tank on my KFL.

Bought an iclear 10s and a bottle of 24mg butter rum from a local b&m. Filled.... took two hits and it cracked. To the best of my knowledge there's no reason it should have. Going to get my money back on that tank. On the other hand it did get me to buy a new Kanger Protank 3. Big difference in the hit and flavor...love it.
