Has anyone wondered why the juices which are/have been known to crack plastic tanks are often packaged and shipped in plastic bottles? I am wondering that. Why am I warned not to fill a plastic tank with the juice when it comes packaged in plastic? Why isn't the plastic bottle cracking, frosting, degrading? I've been searching for a thread here on ECF that addresses this, but have yet to find one. If anyone has a link to such a thread(s) please share it.

Not all plastics react. Many juice bottles are made from PET.

Polycarbonate is a cheap hard plastic. Thus it is 'perfect' for use in this industry for making clearos. And when I say perfect, I am speaking from the manufacturing side of things. The problem from a consumer point of view is some juices break it. As well as leaching of the chemicals into less reactive but still reactive juices.

Use Polypro tanks, or glass. Until the industry changes, that is the best we can do. Or be extra vigilant with the juices you put into polycarb tanks and monitor them for any signs of degradation.
