I've been using juices that are reported to crack tanks like Green Apple, Thug juice and some other apple cinnamon stuff that I have put through a Vivi Nova a few times and I haven't cracked it yet and the tank shows no signs of cracking.

What is needed to cause or a sign of premature cracking? I expected instantaneous signs of damage but if it is due to exposure over time then I'll just keep using my PT2. Which sucks because the protank is my only glass tank until I order some others and I constantly like to switch among my various clearo tanks.

On the Vivi's I use to use I got frosting from the tank cracker juices. The worst one was from TFA Root beer on a CE tank. Melted the drip tip and frosted the tank. On the Vivi's most of my cracking came from stress. You can buy a metal tank if you want to avoid that. But I tell you once you go to a glass tank you will not go back. LOL there is a joke about it. Once you've gone glass the rest taste like aXX. LOL Some juice is more caustic than others. The bottom feed tanks like the Protank II and the Davide Glassomerizer are great. I have 2 Protank v1's a V1.5 a Davide large and mini. The Protank types and my Fogger II RBA which is also a glass bottom feed are my all day vapes. I have some drippers I use for some flavors and for juice testing.

Ive cracked 2 of my vivi novas. One was instant and one held on a bit after cracking but it fogged first. I couldnt see the label without my bifocals and accidently poured in atomic cinnamon in both on 2 separate occasions. The one that cracked instantly did so after 2 hours when i noticed massive juice pouring down my PV.

The other one fogged and eventually had a hairline crack i couldnt see without my glasses.
Then i switched to the Vision v fate and the protank 2.

It just goes boom sometimes, cracks straight off, or slowly etches the plastic and then you vape it and do not realize it until it starts a frost on the tank.
The silica mutes the plastic that definitely is leeching I made a ss mesh CE4+ and noticed it right away, with silica it wasn't noticiable..
That list is golden..

Your tank might be made of polypropylene instead of polycarbonate. Polypropylene tanks don't crack. It's the polycarbonates that do.

Well, that sure as hell makes a lot of sense. I suppose the Vivi Novas, or mine at least is polypropylene as it has been exposed to harmful juices for at least a day or two now and no sign of wear. Now my ProTank doesnt feel so high and mighty.

It can depend upon the strength of the volatatile flavoring used in the juice as to how fast the chemical reaction occurs. I've had a clearomizer literally melt within 5 minutes with contact with a Strawberry Lemonade flavor. Others may take several days. Look for softening of the plastic. Also look for little hair-like strings hanging onto the tank's inner surface. Below are two blogs covering all of these aspects:

Something Safe for Cinnamon & Citrus Flavors

Eeeek! It's melting.
